History of Baotou Library
The old museum is located at Gangtie Street 17, Qingshan District. There are more than 5000 square meters of buildings, including reading building, library building and children's hall. Initially, the collection was 300,000 volumes, including various Chinese books, Baotou local documents, Mongolian newspapers, e-books, audio-visual materials, children's books and newspapers, etc. Subscribe to more than 800 newspapers and periodicals every year, including 700 for adults and 100 for children; Baotou Branch of China Digital Library was opened on June 5438+ 10, 2003, and there are more than 50,000 online full-text books available for browsing and downloading. The reader service window is provided with: open-shelf lending room, book reference room, reading club, newspaper reading room, newspaper reference room, youth study room, local literature room, reference book reading room, special literature room, Mongolian library, electronic network reading room, children's reading room, children's lending room and multi-function hall. Clients include adults and children. It is open 365 days a year and does not close on holidays. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday are open at 8: 00 am; 30- 17: 30, Thursday afternoon 14: 30- 17: 30, closed for study on Thursday morning; The opening hours of the night pavilion in summer are 19:30-22:30. There are 56 employees, including 9 deputy senior titles and 25 intermediate titles. Internal institutions include: book lending department, periodical lending department, science and technology reference department, electronic network department, children's department, editorial department, counseling and cooperation department and office.

At the same time, more than a dozen branches have been established in Tuyouqi, Shiguai District, Guyang County, Baiyun Mining Area, Minfuxinyuan Community of Xuekelu Street in Qingshan District, Baotou Frontier Detachment of Armed Police and Chagannaoer Frontier Workstation, Jingtonglian of Baotou Military Division, Public Security Drug Rehabilitation Center and Baotou Art School. Make full use of the existing literature resources to carry out reading services in a wider range and among more citizens.

On the basis of traditional book and newspaper services, e-books and online reading services have been added. Baotou Branch of China Digital Library was opened in June, 2003. There are more than 50,000 online full-text books. The public can browse and download them in the electronic reading room of the library, or directly click on the website of the municipal library.
