The church was founded in 19 10 (the second year of Qing Xuantong), and the original site is located in Beichuan Road, Hongkou. Frank Joseph Rawlinson, a southern American Baptist missionary, owns more than 20 acres of land here and founded Wyatt Hall, Minqiang Middle School and Mo Yan Girls' Middle School (now Northern Suburb Middle School). 1924, due to the soaring land price of Sichuan North Road, Southern Baptist Church sold its original building, moved two middle schools to Baoxing North Road and built Baptist Village. And allocated funds to build a new four-story building at No.271Dongbaoxing Road as the new site of Wyatt Hall and Wyatt Primary and Secondary School. 1935,65438+February, Wyatt Hall invited Qi to be a pastor until 1990, when Pastor Qi died.

1937, Hongkou became a battlefield after the Battle of Songhu, and Wyatt Hall was forced to move to No.32, Wangjiasha Garden, Lane 605, Wen Yi Road. Due to more and more believers, 1940 bought the foundation of No.375 Seymour Road (now North Shaanxi Road) and began to build the church. 1942 when the new church is completed, the church can accommodate more than 1000 people. It is one of the main Christian churches in Shanghai. Qi also served as the chairman of the all-China Baptist Association.

1950 qi is one of the 40 founders of the Christian three-self movement.
