1, Beethoven
? 1798, 28-year-old Beethoven found his hearing problems, and then his hearing declined day by day. 1822, Beethoven was unable to direct the rehearsal of the opera Federio because of his deafness. He threw away the baton, ran home in one breath, and sat down in a chair, silent for a long time. The deterioration of ear disease made Beethoven very painful, and his negative emotions reached the extreme. He wrote a suicide note stating his tragic experiences and misfortunes. However, Beethoven did not collapse. He regained his confidence in fighting deafness and devoted himself to music creation.
2. Sima Qian
Just as Sima Qian was absorbed in writing historical records, an unexpected trouble suddenly fell on his head. It turned out that Sima Qian offended Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty by defending a general, and was jailed and tortured.
The humiliated Sima Qian was both sad and angry. He tried to spill blood on the wall several times and lost his life. But he remembered his father's entrustment before his death, and he had to forbear and finish his work. What's more, he dismissed the idea before Historical Records was finished.
In this way, Sima Qian, in a fit of pique, spent 13 years and finally completed a brilliant masterpiece of 520,000 words-Historical Records. This unprecedented work almost exhausted his life's hard work, and he wrote it with his life.
