Northwest Fujian, the upper reaches of Jianxi and the southern foot of Wuyishan are not only rich in Jianzhan, but also old tea areas with a long history. Both "Xiaobai" and "Hefengzhu White Tea" in white tea originated here.
The origin of white tea is evidenced by written records. Its name was first found in Song Zian's "A Trial Record of East-West Tea" (around 1064), but Cha Sheng Luyu has recorded white tea in the Tea Classic, referring to a white leaf tea at that time.
