The history of Jiayuguan
Jiayuguan is located 5 kilometers west of Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province. It is the first pass at the western end of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty and the transportation hub of the ancient Silk Road. It is the starting point of the western end of the Great Wall in Wan Li in Ming Dynasty. Founded in the fifth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1372), it has been built since 168, making it the most spectacular Guancheng along the Great Wall of Wan Li. Jiayuguan Guancheng 196 1 was announced by the State Council as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units. 1965 build a city in the name of Guan.
