What is deconstruction?
Deconstruction, or translated as "structural decomposition", is a critical method proposed by post-structuralism. This is a term of Derrida, a deconstructionist. The concept of "deconstruction" originated from the word "de construction" in Heidegger's Being and Time, which originally meant decomposition, digestion, disassembly and disclosure. On this basis, Derrida added the meanings of "elimination", "anti-accumulation" and "problematic".

Deconstruction is a word that post-modern artists like to use, and it is also abused by all kinds of people outside the media and art circles. This is complicated and vague. Deconstruction in literary criticism refers to a deductive method, which shows how the structure of a debate can effectively undermine the position of the debate.

Deconstruction is controversial in academic circles and mass publications. In academic circles, it is accused of nihilism, parasitism and madness. In popular publications, it is regarded as a sign that academic circles have completely divorced from reality. Despite these controversies, deconstruction is still the main force of contemporary philosophy and literary criticism theory.

Generally speaking, deconstruction reading is a text analysis method to reveal the essential differences between text structure and western metaphysics. Deconstruction reading shows that the text can not only be interpreted as a single author conveying an obvious message, but should be interpreted as the embodiment of various conflicts in a certain culture or world view. A deconstructed text will show many simultaneous viewpoints, and these viewpoints are usually in conflict with each other. Comparing the deconstructive reading of the text with the traditional reading, we will also find that many of them are suppressed and ignored.

People in the fashion world are more enthusiastic about the use of this word. Because abstruse and mysterious words are easy to be simplified by popularization and become fashionable words. Starting from 1992, fashion magazines announced that "Dior Company is deconstructing dresses" and "karl lagerfeld is deconstructing fur fashion". Postmodernist amateur theorists in fashion also have their reasons.

They are keenly aware of the essence of deconstruction in a lot of obscure definitions-destroying beliefs that are taken for granted or questioning them. Why does a tuxedo have to have a satin crescent collar or a pointed collar, and why does the side of trousers have to be decorated with satin stripes? So, taking off these is to deconstruct the evening dress. Similarly, Lagerfeld exposed all the rough seams between fur items, destroying the perfect impression of fur fashion, and of course it is enough to claim that this is a deconstruction of fur fashion.
