The vocabulary requirement of TOEFL is at most 8000, while that of s at is 12000, which is the same as GRE, and most of these words are proper nouns. If you don't make great efforts to prepare vocabulary, it is difficult to get high marks on the SAT.
2 Mathematics
Including basic operations, simple algebra and equations (quadratic, if quadratic, it must be a complete square number), percentage, ratio problems, average, inequality problems, basic straight lines and angles, triangles (there may be basic trigonometric functions, that is, trigonometric functions with special angles, but there will be no trigonometric function conversion, inductive formulas, sine theorems, cosine theorems and the like), quadrilateral (quadrilateral) So for mathematics, as long as you have received the basic education in China, you can basically get high marks, even full marks.
It should be noted that although the math problem is simple, it must be able to understand the problem and grasp the logical relationship.
3 reading
The reading part is considered to be the most difficult part for students in China. This part requires the largest vocabulary and the strongest logical reasoning ability. This part is mainly divided into two types.
3. 1 sentence filling (sentence completion question)
Give a sentence with a space and let you choose the most logical option from five options. Note that these five options are grammatically correct, that is, no matter which word is used, it is grammatically correct. The only difference is the logical relationship, that is, the connection with the context.
Due to cultural differences and different ways of thinking, this part is often the part with the lowest score for China students, and it is also the most difficult part to improve. In order to get the best possible score, the first vocabulary must be passed, and the second is to grasp the relationship between words in the sentence, especially the space and the given word must be related, or the same, or on the contrary, find out the words related to the space, and then judge whether to find words with similar meaning or words with relative meaning according to the related words. This is the basic idea of this kind of problem.
For a topic with two spaces, it is possible that two spaces are associated with two different words and two spaces are associated with the same word. In this case, as above, make a judgment according to related words, and then make a choice. If there is a connection between two spaces, we should look at five options to see which one is connected, whether the connection is similar or opposite, whether it conforms to the context of the related words or sentences between two spaces, and make a correct judgment.
3.2 Critical reading (critical reading problems)
Give an article and then ask questions. Here are three kinds of articles.
3.2. 1 two short articles
Give two short articles (about 100 words), each independent, with different types of questions.
For this kind of problem, it is generally to read the topic first and then the article. Because the two articles are independent, they will not affect each other, and there will be no problems related to the two articles, so it is relatively simple. The focus is on the positioning of vocabulary and the accurate questioning in the text.
3.2.2 A long article
Give a long article with more than ten questions (at least 50 lines, more likely to reach 100 lines).
For this kind of reading, we should read the article first and then look at the questions. When reading an article, we should understand the structure, logical relationship and the author's attitude of Chu's article, and also see the relationship between the viewpoints in the article (usually more than one viewpoint in the article), whether they support each other or oppose each other. This kind of long article generally comes from academic magazines, which is very academic and covers a wide range. It may involve various disciplines, with many professional words and long words. So the vocabulary must be enough. For the example in the article, it is generally enough to find out what the purpose of this example is, just take the specific figures and other details.
3.2.3 Comparative articles
Give two articles, each about 40 lines, and finally give some questions, which may be about one of the articles or the relationship between the two articles.
This kind of reading, first read the first article, then answer the questions related to the first article, and then read the theme of the second article chapter. You should get a general idea of the relationship between them, and then answer questions about the two articles. Generally speaking, there are many contrasts, but there are also explanations and the like.
4 writing
The score in this part is usually between reading and math. This part does not require high vocabulary, but requires China students to be good at grammar and not good at language expression.
This part is divided into two types.
4. 1 grammar (grammar, plain and fancy)
4. 1. 1 Wrong choice.
Give a sentence and underline the four parts of the sentence. These four parts may all be wrong. If you think this sentence is correct, choose the E option.
Different from the old TOEFL grammar questions, this sentence may or may not be wrong, which increases the difficulty, but the way to judge the mistakes is similar to the TOEFL test, that is, part of speech, collocation and so on. Of course, logical errors may also be observed.
4. 1.2 improve the sentence give a sentence, underline a part of the sentence, and ask to improve the sentence to make it more perfect grammatically or logically. If you think the original sentence is good and you don't need to change it, choose option A.
If it needs to be changed, there may be grammatical errors in this part, or there may be logical contradictions with the non-underlined part, such as the incorrect relationship between words, different opinions and so on. You must read the whole sentence before you can make a choice. Of course, you should also choose A boldly when necessary. The five options in the SAT appear almost the same number of times.
4.2 Writing
Writing is graded by two people independently, 1~6, which means your final score is between 2~ 12. As for writing, SAT writing has no question bank, but it is said that it is not much different from GRE question bank, that is, it is not as deep as GRE. The writing requirements of SAT are purely academic writing, putting forward opinions, demonstrating and supporting opinions and arguments, and finally summing up. According to the requirements of the topic, a concession paragraph may be needed. Generally, the five-stage style is better. /waiyu/sat/
