1740, the joint struggle of overseas Chinese and Indonesian people broke out in Indonesia. In the early days of the Dutch occupation of Jakarta, in order to solve the labor shortage, they plundered China people to engage in handicrafts and agricultural production.

1740 On July 25th, the Dutch colonial governor ordered poor overseas Chinese to register in order to be sent to Sri Lanka.

The atrocities lasted for 7 days, more than 600 overseas Chinese houses were burned, and 10000 overseas Chinese were killed.

The vast number of overseas Chinese were filled with indignation and set off a vigorous uprising against the Dutch colonists. The uprising team fought hard in Jakarta for 7 days and 7 nights, and finally moved because of weak forces. The blood of overseas Chinese dyed all the streams in Jakarta red, which is called "Battle of Red Stream" in history.

Uprising overseas Chinese joined forces with Indonesian people to arm against Dutch colonists until 1743, which wrote a glorious page in the history of overseas Chinese and Indonesian people's anti-Dutch struggle.
