The 8th National Congress of China * * * Production Party was held in September 1956 in the Auditorium of Beijing Political Consultative Conference. After the Seventh Party Congress, a series of profound changes have taken place in China society. Under the leadership of the Party, the people of the whole country established the People's Republic of China (PRC). By the first half of 1956, the socialist transformation of private ownership of the means of production was basically completed in most parts of the country, and a brand-new socialist system was established in China.
At the same time, many important indicators of the first five-year plan have been completed ahead of schedule. In this situation, in order to strengthen the construction of the ruling party, explore the road of socialist construction in China, and formulate the party's line, principles and policies under the new situation, the Central Committee decided to convene the Eighth National Congress.
Before the formal convening of the meeting, the party made various preparations for the smooth convening of the meeting. 1On April 25th, 956, Mao Zedong made a speech on "On Ten Major Relationships" at the enlarged meeting in the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, which put forward many important ideological principles for exploring the road of socialist construction suited to China's national conditions and made important ideological and theoretical preparations for the convening of the Eighth National Congress. In the same year, from August 30th to September 12, eight preparatory meetings were held in Beijing.
Mao Zedong made a speech on "Strengthening Party Unity and Inheriting the Party's Tradition" at the meeting, pointing out that the purpose and purpose of the Eighth National Congress is to sum up the experience since the Seventh National Congress, unite the whole party, unite all forces at home and abroad, and strive for building a socialist China. Call on the whole party to inherit the fine traditions and oppose subjectivism, sectarianism and bureaucracy.
At the meeting, Mao Zedong made an opening speech, Liu Shaoqi made a political report of the Central Committee to the Eighth National Congress, Deng Xiaoping made a report on amending the Party's Articles of Association, and Zhou Enlai made a report on suggestions for developing the second five-year plan for the national economy. At the meeting, Zhu De, Chen Yun and Dong made important speeches.
