How did the real Zhu Qiyu die in history?
During Ming Daizong Zhu Qiyu's serious illness, Yingzong refused to let too many doctors see him, which made his condition worse and worse, and finally he died. As for the cause of his death, there are different opinions: some say that he died of a serious illness, while others say that Ying Zong ordered eunuchs to strangle him with white silk. In short, opinions vary. After Zhu Qiyu was killed, Yingzong refused to recognize him as the emperor and destroyed the mausoleum built in Tianshou Mountain area. He was buried as a "king" in Yuquan Mountain in the western suburbs of Beijing. His mausoleum is called Jingtai Mausoleum.
