Before joining the World Trade Organization 10 years ago, we actively integrated with the rules of the World Trade Organization. China has revised a large number of domestic laws, administrative regulations and policies related to trade, investment and market access. The laws and regulations system is more complete, the policy transparency is greatly improved, the tariff and non-tariff trade barriers are reduced year by year, and the intellectual property protection and technical standards system are more international, which has laid a solid foundation for China to move towards an all-round open economic system.

While actively observing WTO rules, fulfilling WTO commitments, and promoting trade liberalization and investment facilitation, China's role in WTO trade dispute settlement mechanism, trade policy review mechanism and multilateral trade negotiation mechanism has rapidly changed from learning adaptation to qualified performance, and it has been widely recognized by the international community in maintaining international fair trade order and using rules to defend its legitimate rights and interests.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of China's accession to the World Trade Organization. Standing at a new historical starting point, reviewing the arduous course and brilliant achievements in the past 20 years is of great significance for exploring and deepening the new open economic system with more strategic autonomy and resilience, and actively participating in, promoting and leading the reconstruction of the global economic governance system.
