Why is Qiao Shi's son called Jiang Xiaoming?
He Jian said:

Qiao Shi, born in February of 1924, was originally named Jiang Zhitong from Dinghai, Zhejiang.

1940 joined the work, joined China in August of the same year, and participated in organizing the Shanghai student movement in his early years.

1940 to 1945, served as member and secretary of the underground party branch of Shanghai Nanfang Middle School and Guanghua Middle School, and secretary of the district party committee of Shanghai Underground Party School. He studied in the literature department of East China United University and in the training class of Huainan Huazhong Bureau.

1996 was awarded the title of honorary citizen by Havana, Cuba in April.

1996 was awarded an honorary doctorate in law by Regina University.

The historical background of Jiang Zhitong's predecessor's early underground party in Shanghai decided that he had to use the pseudonym Qiao Shi. Later, after Qiao Shi became the chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), if he used his original name, Jiang Zhitong, everyone would call him Chiang Kai-shek, which was easily confused with Chairman Jiang Zhongzheng, so he always used the pseudonym Qiao Shi.

However, according to the genealogy, it is natural and understandable that the children of Qiao Shi's predecessors use Jiang's surname.

Comrade Qiao Shi, a democratic veteran, has been keeping a low profile since his retirement, and generally does not attend various major events.

At that time, Comrade Qiao Shi could go to the next level, but he voluntarily retired, and all of them left the opportunity to young people without attaching a stack. It's commendable!
