Firstly, some proverbs in the history of mythology are analyzed, and people have great misunderstandings about them.
Myth 1: Hong Jun came first, and then one day, Lu Ya Daojun was still ahead.
Myth 2: One gasification and three purification.
In the Romance of Gods, it is said that the old gentleman deified three gods with magic. There are actually many schools of Taoism, and each school believes in a different God. Based on the doctrine of the mean taught by others, everyone compromised this statement and respected Sanqing as the main god. The protagonist of "one gasification and three cleanness" is really an old gentleman, but he is not too old.
Myth 3: Immortals don't die.
No one can stop the passage of time, and neither can the gods. Only the immortal Yuan God will be annihilated, and any materialized immortality will be annihilated. However, immortals will be reincarnated to preserve the Yuan gods, so different times may be different immortals. According to the level of cultivation, some immortals can live forever, while others can only live forever but get old.
Let's sort out the immortal system in ancient China. There is a consensus in the cultural history of China for thousands of years, that is, Pangu created the world, and it is not an orthodox immortal system if it does not follow this concept.
After Pangu opened the world, the whole person became the spirit of mountains and rivers. After a long period of practice, various spiritual roots have evolved independently, during which the most primitive god in our local culture-Laojun (the originator of myth, this person is probably a person who has no opinion in history) was formed.
When the old gentleman made three purges, he formed three gods worshipped by Taoism, namely, Jade Qing Yuan Shi Tian Zun, Qing Ling Bao Tian Zun and Tai Qing Moral Tian Zun, who lived in Qingwei Day, Fish Rainy Day and Dahongtian on the 36th heavy day respectively. Sanqing incarnated many times in Purdue, among which Taiqing's moral Buddha incarnated as Li Er (that is, Laozi), which founded Taoist theory in the world and guided the development of China culture.
Laozi went to the West to turn Hu into Hangu Buddha, founded Buddhism in the Western Regions, and received a disciple who lit lanterns, that is, the ancestor of Buddhism, the Buddha who lit lanterns. (The prototype of the Vajrayana magic circle practiced by Buddhism is the Vajrayana bracelet used by Laozi at that time, which is recorded in The Journey to the West. )
Laozi made his debut as an immortal, became a great old gentleman and was regarded as the ancestor of Taoism. Under the auspices of Sanqing, Heaven was established (the mainstream management positions are Sanqing, Yusi, Wulao, June 4th, Qiyuan, Bajichu, Jiuyao and Du Shi), and various immortals were formally established. The levels of ghosts and gods in heaven and earth were arranged in turn, with the highest level being immortals (Sanqing, Yusi, Wulao, Jade Emperor, Queen Mother of the West, Dong and some top immortals). Furthermore, there are immortals (six divisions, seven yuan, eight poles, nine secluded places, ten capitals, five hundred arhats and other conventional immortals), immortals (immortals cultivated by mortals such as Jigong, Guan Yu and Zhang Sanfeng) and ghosts (mountain gods, land gods, Asura, monsters and so on). Strength is not limited to grades, and there are strong and weak points at all levels.
In the third year of Qing Dynasty, the Buddha at the beginning of Yuan accepted many disciples, and most of the immortals were under the Buddha at the beginning of Yuan Dynasty. Lingbao Tianzun is a Tianzun, and his disciple Daoduobao was reincarnated as Sakyamuni, who became a Tathagata with many treasures. The disciples of the old gentleman in Taishang are only Taoist priests burning lanterns and Antarctic immortal Weng, and secretly they may be the teachers of Erlang God and the Monkey King.
The four royal families were originally six royal families, namely Emperor Hao Tian Jin Que Yu, Emperor Xi Tai Chi, Emperor Zhong Tian Wei Zi Bei Ji, Emperor Yan Qing of Dongji Temple, Emperor Xian of Antarctica, and Emperor Cheng Tian Imitating the Earth.
Jade Emperor-Jade Emperor, the leader of heaven;
Emperor Fuxi, the emperor of ancient Huang San in China history;
Arctic Emperor Zhenwu Emperor, Wudang Mountain Dojo;
Donghua Emperor-Dong Wang Gong, that is, the East Emperor Taiyi (also translated as Taiyi real person, Taiyi homophonic Taiyi), that is, Donghua Emperor in the pillow book of Sansheng III, and then reincarnated in Lv Dongbin to rebuild Xiandao;
The immortal emperor-Shennong (Yan Di), namely Ren Huang in ancient Huang San in China history;
Nu Wa, Empress Houtu, was the Yellow Emperor of Huang San in ancient China history.
Later, not counting the Jade Emperor and Nuwa, they became the Four Emperors.
Fuxi and Nuwa are descendants of Suirenshi, and Shennong is descendants of Fuxi Nuwa, so Suirenshi is the ancestor of Huang San, and it is analyzed as Mr. Sanbianlao.
The five elders are Buddha in the Western Heaven (Tathagata), Guanyin in the Antarctic (Guanyin Bodhisattva, who was a benevolent Taoist and nine disciples of Buddha in the early Yuan Dynasty), the holy emperor in the East (Emperor Dongyue, who was the King of Wu Cheng in Shang Dynasty and Western Zhou Dynasty), the mysterious spirit in the Arctic (Doum Yuan Jun, who was the second disciple of Tianshi) and Huang Xian in the Central Yellow Pole. This statement only comes from The Journey to the West, but considering that The Journey to the West is a novel that emphasizes Buddhism and suppresses Taoism, only Tathagata is listed as the Five Elders, and Guanyin is also listed as the Five Elders. It can be seen that the status of local Buddhism in the Chinese immortal system is not high.
After talking about Taoist immortals, let's talk about Buddhism. Buddhism in China's myth system originated from the ancestor's grandfather who turned Hu into a Buddha, burning a lamp as a past Buddha, Tathagata as a present Buddha and Maitreya as a future Buddha. These three Buddhas are the three vertical Buddhas of Buddhism, among which the founder of Burning Lantern was a Taoist priest who burned lanterns in a previous life, and once became a Zen master of Wu Chao in The Journey to the West (Burning Lantern also practiced six magical powers, knowing the past and the future); Tathagata is a Taoist, who had many treasures in his last life (commonly known as Tathagata); Maitreya Buddha was a disciple of Yuanshi Tianzun in his previous life (according to his research and analysis).
After Buddhism, let's talk about animals. There are three beasts in Sanqing: the phoenix in the sky, the unicorn on the ground and the dragon in the sea. Phoenix won the battle of the three great beasts, so the later beasts were better than the cows in the sky and the earth, and the cows in the sea and the earth. The descendants of Phoenix are Peacock, Dapeng, Sun, Fire Phoenix, Qingluan and so on. The descendants of Kirin are Xuanwu, Baihu, Qingniu, Brave and Gluttony. The descendants of dragons are dragons, jiaozi, turtles and so on. Among them, the outstanding representatives are Buddha Peacock King Daming, Buddha Uncle Golden Wing Dapeng Carving, Lu Ya Daojun (three-legged sun, crow, ancient raven), Niu (Tianshi mount), Qing Niu (Taishang Laojun mount), Qingluanhe (Nezha mount) and the Four Seas Dragon King.
Let's talk about a few mysterious immortals first. Lishan's mother, the descendant of Nuwa, also known as Lishan's mother, was once the third disciple of Master Tian Tong.
Pilanpo, a descendant of Phoenix, is an old hen who cultivated in ancient times. She used to be an apprentice to the master Tian Tong.
The Queen Mother of the West-the offspring of Nu Wa.
Zhen Yuanzi-the great disciple of Nu Wa (Zhen Yuanzi is known as the ancestor of fairies, and Nu Wa is the Yellow Emperor).
The Monkey King-the descendant of Nu Wa (reincarnation of Shi Tian).
The pharmacist Buddha, the oriental glass world master in the Buddhist constant III Buddha, is at the same level as Amitabha in the western paradise world and Sakyamuni in the central bodhisattva world.
