The hinterland of Wugui Mountain is Shijieqiao Village and Binglang Village, which are hero villages. As early as the beginning of 1942, in order to meet the needs of the anti-Japanese struggle, it was decided to open up the Wuguishan revolutionary base area. 1in June, 944, the congress of establishing democratic political power in Zhongshan County was held in Shijieqiao Village, and the administrative supervision department of Zhongshan County was announced. 1945 was held in Binglang Mountain Ancient in June. The Pearl River Column Command, the People's Anti-Japanese Guerrilla in the Pearl River Delta, was established in Gushi Ancestral Temple. The establishment of these political and military organizations launched an all-round struggle against the enemy and won the final victory. Now, the ancient ancestral temple has been renovated, flowers and trees are planted in the vestibule, there are documents and objects of the deeds of the Pearl River column in the temple, and there is a monument to martyrs in front of the village for tourists to mourn and recall, inspiring the national spirit and patriotic feelings.

There is also a story about Zengge Lake circulating in Wuguishan District: In those days, Zengge and his wife came to settle in Chi Pan. They are industrious and wise, inspired by the impulse of the current, and created the rice thrower, which reduced the labor. They lived a good life, but a flash flood washed away the water reef caused by their hard work. In order to keep the fruits of their labor, Zeng Ge jumped into the pool, and Zeng Sao jumped in with all her strength. Finally, both of them died.
