Historical Evolution of Qiyi Middle School in Jing 'an District, Shanghai
Qiyi Middle School affiliated to Tongji University is a school with a glorious history and fine traditions. The school's predecessor was a private Chongde girls' middle school, which was founded in 1905.

1953 chongde girls' middle school, jingde girls' middle school and Yan Mo girls' middle school merged into the seventh girls' middle school.

1958 changed its name to Qiyi Middle School to enroll boys and girls.

1978 is listed as a key middle school in Jing 'an District.

1994 merged with Yucai Middle School.

1996, Xincai Middle School, the first public completely converted middle school in Jing 'an District, was established in the original site of Qiyi Middle School.

On July 1999 and 1 day, Xincai Middle School resumed its original name as Shanghai Qiyi Middle School, and the nature of public transformation remained unchanged.

In July 2000, the former Jiangning Middle School in Jing 'an District was merged into Qiyi Middle School.

In 2005, Qiyi Middle School became the "Jing 'an Education Cooperation Base of Tongji University".

In 2006, Shanghai Qiyi Middle School was restored as a public key complete middle school.

In April 2007, the school was listed as Qiyi Middle School affiliated to Tongji University.
