High-speed railway lines and stations along the North River
The route map and stations of the high-speed railway along the Beihe River are as follows: There are 16 stations in the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei section of the high-speed railway along the Beihe River, namely Shanghai Baoshan Station, Taicang Station, Chongming Station, Qidong West Station, Haimen North Station, Rugao West Station, Huangqiao Station, Taizhou South Station, Yangzhou East Station, Yizheng North Station, Nanjing North Station, Chuzhou Station, Dashu Station, Feidong Station and Hefei South Station.

The project connects Shanghai, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, with a total length of 554.6 kilometers (including the new railway 5 19.9 kilometers) and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is a double-track high-speed railway. This approval marks a major breakthrough in the preliminary work of the project.

The northern high-speed railway along the Yangtze River is an important strategic project in the Yangtze River Delta integration planning. It is the key support for Nantong to build a high-speed railway hub, and it is also a composite river-crossing channel-Hujiang Channel besides Zhang Hao and Haitai.

The north high-speed railway along the Yangtze River is the main channel of "eight verticals and eight horizontals" along the Yangtze River in the national medium and long-term railway network planning. It is a railway passenger transport channel that undertakes the direct communication between Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei and Anhui and Shanghai, communicates with passengers along the Jiangbei, and communicates between the central and western regions and East China. It is a high-speed railway backbone line with road network function and intercity function.

With the planning and later completion of the high-speed railway along the Yangtze River in the north, Nantong will make a qualitative leap whether it is integrated into the Yangtze River Delta Economic Belt or coordinated development with cities north of the Yangtze River. At this point, Nantong, as the hub of north-south transportation, is becoming more and more important.

Construction achievements

The main line of the newly-built Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu high-speed railway along the Yangtze River is 526.032 kilometers long, including 6.837 kilometers of Nantong Tongyan Railway and 5 19. 195 kilometers of newly-built section. The main line is built according to the standard of high-speed railway, which is a double-track electrified passenger dedicated line with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

Related projects include the renovation of general speed system in Shanghai hub, Nantong region, Yangzhou region, Nanjing hub, Hefei hub and Nanjing hub, and the design speed of related projects is 80 to 250 km/h.

There are 16 stations on the main line, of which 10 is newly built and 5 are rebuilt, and 1 is used. There are 5 stations in the renovation project of Nanjing Hub's general speed system, including new 1 station (Nanjing North Station is on the main line), 4 stations are rebuilt, and Pukou North Station is demolished.
