1. Avista-the holy book of Zoroastrianism
The holy book of Zoroastrianism in ancient Iran
The oldest document in Iran
Must-read literature for studying ancient Iranian culture.
Avista is the oldest document in Iran. Although it is difficult to determine the age of this masterpiece, it can be traced back to at least before 10 century BC. The Avista we are talking about today is not an ancient original work. Most of this masterpiece has been lost and destroyed by those ineffective and violent "demons" in the continuous military disaster.
According to the traditional Zoroastrianism literature, the ancients carved "Avista" on 10,000 pieces of cowhide with gold characters and treasured it in paist, Dairi. There are 345,700 words of Avista in Sassanian dynasty, and the Paravia literature about Avista is collectively called Zande, with 2,094,200 words. However, there are only 83,000 words left in the remains of Avista.
