Mud City enjoys a superior geographical position, bordering the main urban area of Lingang New City and Yangshan Bonded Port Area (Logistics Park) in the southeast and Lingang Heavy Equipment Industrial Zone in the southwest. With the development and construction of Shanghai Lingang New Town, Mud Town plans to use 36 square kilometers as the land for Lingang Heavy Equipment Industrial Zone, 8.25 square kilometers as one of the four sub-zones of Lingang New Town (the other three sub-zones are Luchaogang, Shuyuan and Vientiane, also collectively referred to as "Lingang Four Towns" or "Nanhui Dongsi Towns"), and the rest 17.25 square kilometers as the basic farmland protection zone.
Mud city has convenient land and water transportation. It is only 10 km east of Dishui Lake in Lingang New Town, and about 30 km north of Pudong International Airport. Hulu expressway (A2), Lu Nan Highway and Pudong Railway intersect, and the domestic cement road and asphalt road intersect each other to connect villages. Due to its proximity to Yangshan International Deepwater Port, the location advantage of Mud City has become increasingly prominent, and it has become a treasure-house for economic development. In 2007, the town's gross domestic product reached 65.438+0.33 billion yuan, the town-level fiscal revenue reached 65.438+0.44 billion yuan, the tax revenue reached 36.5438+0.00 billion yuan (including 55.03 million yuan from Hong Kong-based funds and 247.8 million yuan from registered enterprises), the investment in fixed assets reached 65.438+0.9 billion yuan, and the per capita net income was 7 million yuan.
