When was the earliest water war and naval battle in China?
The earliest water army in China was established in the State of Wu in the Spring and Autumn Period. From the founding of Taibo to Sun Shoumeng in the 19th century, the fighting capacity of Wu Navy has been very strong. During this period, Wu's capital was always in Meili (now Wuxi Meicun). Thus, the first water army in the history of our country was established in Wuxi. Wuxi is located in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and faces Taihu Lake in the south. There are many rivers and dense water networks in the territory, which provide favorable natural conditions for naval training.

The water war between Wu Chu in the Spring and Autumn Period was the earliest water war in China. By virtue of its favorable geographical position in the upper reaches of the State of Wu, the State of Chu went down the river many times and attacked the State of Wu. In 570 BC, Zi Chu used the water army to capture Wuhu, which was the earliest recorded water war in modern history. Since then, Wu Chu has fought again and again, winning and losing. In 504 BC, the State of Wu defeated the State of Chu and captured seven people, including Pan, Xiaohe and Doctor, as well as a lot of wealth and treasures.

In the first 494 years, wuyue fought a large-scale water war in Taihu Lake. Fu Cha, the king of Wu, ordered Wu Zixu, a general, to lead the water army across Taihu Lake to attack Yue. Gou Jian, the King of Yue, led an army of 30,000 troops to seize Fujiao Mountain (now Mashan, Wuxi), one of the largest islands in Taihu Lake. The two armies fought fiercely in the lake. Because of Wu Zixu's excellent combat, Wu Jun became more and more brave, and finally the water army of the State of Yue was almost wiped out.

After Fu Cha defeated the state of Yue, he thought he was a private soldier and wanted to annex Shandong, so the earliest naval battle broke out in the history of our country. In 485 BC, Wu Jun attacked Shandong Peninsula by land and water. Wu Jun was defeated by the Qi army because of the rough sea. Fu Cha heard the news and had to withdraw.
