Protracted ethnic conflicts at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa

The Middle East War is a war between Israel and Arab countries in the Middle East, Palestine and its surrounding areas after the Second World War. Since the first Middle East war broke out in 1948, there have been frequent wars in this region, and five large-scale wars have broken out in the past 40 years. These wars are the inevitable result of the intensification of national contradictions between Arab countries and Israel, and also the manifestation of the intensification of the struggle between the former Soviet Union and the United States and the intensification of the struggle of the Arab people against colonialism and hegemonism.

Palestine is located in the west of Asia, between the Mediterranean Sea, the Dead Sea and the Jordan River.

After the end of the Middle Ages, the anti-Semitic movement in Europe rose, and the Jews launched the Zionist movement to find a way out, constantly organizing Jews to return to Palestine. 19 17 Britain invaded Palestine and fostered and used Zionism, which intensified the Arab-Israeli national contradictions in Palestine. But1February 1947, Britain announced that it would submit the question of Palestine to the United Nations, and the United Nations passed a resolution to establish an Arab country and a Jewish country respectively to carve up Palestine.

In June 5438+05, six Arab countries declared war on Israel with the support of Britain. At the beginning of the war, the Afghan army won Lien Chan and the Israeli army was extremely passive. The United States manipulated the Security Council to arrange a four-week ceasefire. Israel took the opportunity to step up its military expansion and adjust its deployment.

The contrast of military forces between the two sides soon turned in Israel's favor. As soon as the ceasefire period came, the Israeli army first launched a counterattack against the Afghan army in the central coastal plain, and then in the north. Arab countries have different aspirations and lack unified operational command.

In a short period of 10 days, Albania lost more than 1000 square kilometers of land. Although Israel has achieved success, it urgently needs more troops and materials. During the war, people all over the world set off a wave of opposition to British, French and Israeli aggression and support for Egypt. The war of aggression also worsened the financial and economic situation of Britain and France. Under the resistance of the Egyptian people, Britain and France were forced to cease fire at midnight on the 6th, while Israel announced a ceasefire on the 5th. British, French and Israeli troops withdrew from Egypt in June+February of 5438 and March of the following year. This war declared the collapse of British and French colonial rule in the Middle East.

1On June 5, 967, with the support of the United States, Israel launched another long-planned war against Arab countries, namely the third Middle East war. Before the war, in order to cover up its strategic attempt to launch a full-scale attack on Albania, Israel first launched a surprise attack on the Egyptian army and air force, and successfully implemented a series of strategic deception against Albania, paralyzing the other side. On the morning of the 5th, after careful preparation, Israel dispatched the air force for the first time, raided the Egyptian Air Force 14 airport in less than three hours, and destroyed several ground-to-air missile bases and radar stations, which caused a devastating blow to the Egyptian Air Force. Subsequently, the Israeli army raided some airports in Syria, Jordan and Iraq, and the air force successfully seized the air superiority. Half an hour after the first air raid, Israeli ground forces occupied the Gaza Strip under the cover of the air force, and then split up. On the western front, the Israeli army headed for the Suez Canal area. On the 8th, five divisions of the Egyptian army were annihilated in Sinai Peninsula, and all the land on the east bank of the canal was occupied.
