Route guide for finding Xiamen city ruins: Xiamen ancient city wall ruins are not easy to find, and there are two routes to reach.
Route 1:
First, you must come to the Xiamen Public Security Bureau Building on Xinhua Road. On the right side facing the building, there is a parking lot and a security booth. Go straight for 50 meters and then turn right.
You can see Xiamen Gas Center within a few steps. There is a Chumiyan 45- 1 with iron gate 20 meters away from the gas center. The point is that the ruins of Xiamen City are 50 meters away from this iron gate.
Route 2:
First, find Chen Huacheng Temple on Park West Road (near the west gate of Zhongshan Park), go up the mountain along Yimiyan Hutong, bypass a very narrow and rugged hutong, and go directly to No.45-1at Yimiyan Avenue, which is the destination.
Present situation of Xiamen ancient city wall site: Due to the lack of good construction and protection in recent years, Xiamen ancient city wall site has become a neglected provincial cultural relics protection unit.
There are many reasons why the ancient city wall was neglected. First of all, the entrance to the ruins of the city wall is an iron gate, leaving only a small door, which is easily mistaken for a residential area. Secondly, the ruins of the ancient city wall have no road signs and the roads are rugged. Third, the site of the ancient city wall is located in the overgrown grass, and it is difficult to recognize it from a distance as the site of Xiamen, a provincial cultural relics protection unit.
Several existing landscapes of Xiamen ancient city wall site: Although the ancient city wall is somewhat barren, there are still some historical sites here. From the scene, there are three stone carvings, two historical sites, a small pavilion, the only preserved section of the ancient city wall and the bunker facilities at the highest part of the city wall.
1, stone carving "Mountain Surrounded by Water"
Inscription by Yang Qizhen, prefect of Fujian Navy in Qing Dynasty. Mountain ring refers to Yuping Mountain, Wanshiyan Mountain and Huwei Mountain in the east, north and west of the ancient city. Water life, sea guide, stormy waves.
2. Stone carvings "Looking at the Cloud" and "Full of Money to Steal"
This was also put forward by Gan, then the prefect of Fujian Navy. The word "looking at the clouds" means that the place is high and you can expect changes. The inscription "Full Money Steals Peach" quoted the story of Dong Fangshuo stealing peach.
There is a tablet pavilion under the ancient city wall.
There is a couplet in the pavilion, the first part is "Looking back on the past glory of Bohai Sea and leaving the old base", and the second part is "Looking at the beautiful sunshine new city of Lujiang today".
In the center of Shiting is Rebuilding the Monument of Xiamen City Wall written by Xiamen Cultural Relics Management Committee on June 5438+0994165438+1October 20th. Because of the rain, the words at the bottom of the monument are a little blurred.
4. Two stone tablets
There are two stone tablets on the far right side of the ancient city wall site, one is the site of Xiamen City, and the positive content of the inscription is "196 1 year 1 month, which was announced by the Municipal People's Committee as the first batch of municipal cultural relics protection units. This house is the "Establishment of Xiamen Municipal People's Government" re-issued in March 1982.
The other stone tablet is "Xiamen University City Wall", and the inscription reads "May 2005 1 1 was announced by the government as the sixth batch of provincial-level cultural relics protection units", which was established by the Fujian Provincial People's Government.
5. Main body of ancient city wall
The main body of the ancient city wall is an uphill path. The ancient banyan blocked the sun and left the ground, which was desolate. This is the last historical relic left by the 600-year-old city wall.
The top of the ancient city wall is a flat land of about 100 square meter. The anti-aircraft gun bunker facilities on the ground are anti-aircraft guns set up by the garrison in the early days of Xiamen's liberation to guard against bombing by Kuomintang planes. At this time, leaves are everywhere and weeds are reborn.
Future of Xiamen Ancient City Wall: The site of Xiamen Ancient City Wall with a history of more than 600 years has been repeatedly protected by relevant departments in recent years, hoping to build a city site museum on the basis of this Ming ancient city wall. However, when I visited here in February 20 19, it was still "forgotten", and the whole area was overgrown with weeds and deserted.
Understanding of the protection of Xiamen ancient city wall: history should not be forgotten. The ancient city wall has witnessed the development of Xiamen, and its protection is imminent. I hope the relevant departments will build this place into Xiamen Ancient City Wall Ruins Park as soon as possible.
