4. Venue introduction
Shanghai Museum was formally established in A.D. 1952. The original site and address are the old horse racing club at 325 Nanjing West Road. Seven years later, I moved to Zhonghui Building, No.6/KLOC-0, Henan South Road, which is now No.201,Renmin Avenue, Huangpu District, south of Shanghai People's Square. This address change is still very interesting, and it also reflects the importance and serious attitude of our team library.
In the 1990s, the new museum began to be built in an all-round way, the venue area gradually expanded, various new cultural relics and collections gradually increased and appeared, and more and more funds were invested. At present, Shanghai Museum has 1 1 specialized museums and 3 exhibition halls, with a collection of about 1 10,000 pieces of cultural relics and works of art, a large number of excellent cultural relics and numerous historical cultural relics and articles, which has become a highlight of the museum community.
