Liu Hengjie's Xiangshan, why is it fragrant?
The fragrant hill to be mentioned here was not famous at all a few years ago. It seems that not many outsiders know about it except the locals.

It is not the Xiangshan Mountain in Beijing. Xiangshan, located in the western suburbs of Beijing, is named Xianglushan because there is a huge nipple stone on its peak, which looks like a censer. It is misty at dawn and dusk and looks like a cigarette curled up in the furnace from a distance. Although the main peak of Xiangshan Mountain in Beijing is only 557 meters above sea level, it has long been famous in history. Xiangshan Park was built in the 26th year of Jin Dading, with a history of nearly 900 years. During the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the royal family built a farewell palace in Xiangshan, where emperors hunted in summer and autumn to enjoy the cool. So there are many historical sites in Xiangshan. Every autumn, the red leaves all over the mountain attract Chinese and foreign tourists. 1956, the famous writer Yang Shuo visited Xiangshan and wrote an essay "Red Leaves in Xiangshan". Later, this article was selected as a Chinese textbook for primary and secondary schools, and Xiangshan is well known. Because I didn't go to the right time, the red leaves in Xiangshan were not red, and the writer didn't see the red leaves all over the mountain, but "picked a more valuable red leaf and hid it in my heart." This is not an ordinary red leaf. It is a red leaf that has been beaten by wind and rain in life. The older you get, the redder you get. "After reading that article, who wouldn't be full of eager yearning for Beijing Xiangshan?

It's not Xiangshan in Luoyang. Xiangshan, located in the south of Luoyang, is said to be named after the fragrant pueraria lobata. In the sixth year of Tang Dahe (832), Bai Juyi, then a great poet in Yinda, Henan, donated 600,000 to 700,000 yuan to rebuild Xiangshan Temple and wrote Xiu Xiangshan Temple. The first sentence at the beginning of this article is the admiration for Xiangshan Temple: "Luodu has four suburbs, mountains and rivers win, and Longmen is the first." Ten temples in Longmen, the victory of sightseeing, are the first in Xiangshan. "Since then, Xiangshan Temple has gained a great reputation, and Xiangshan is also a household name. Bai Juyi also compiled 800 poems written in Luoyang for more than ten years into ten volumes and put them in the Buddhist Scripture Pavilion of Xiangshan Temple. I often go to the Xiangshan Temple in Longmen to meditate and listen to the scriptures, calling myself "Xiangshan lay man". Bai Juyi and more than eight old people often get together in Xiangshan Temple. Among them, there are famous poets, a hundred-year-old monk Ruman admired by the world, and Li, the oldest man in Luoyang history. At that time, people respectfully called them "Xiangshan Jiulao". In the sixth year of Huichang (846), Bai Juyi died of illness and was buried in Xiangshan Temple next to Ruman Master Tower.

The Xiangshan I want to talk about is located in the northwest of Laiwu District, Jinan City, Shandong Province.

The Taishan Mountain Range extends to the northeast, and the other veins extend to Laiwu District of Jinan City, forming a rolling mountain range. This is Xiangshan Mountain. The rolling mountains are like rough waves. Between the rough waves, there is a huge ship that seems to be motionless and like breaking the waves. There is a mast on the ship, which is the main peak of Xiangshan, with an altitude of 9 18 meters.

A few years ago, when I first learned that the mountain here was also called Xiangshan, I thought it was named by the local * * * for the need of developing tourism, and I was a little unhappy-why do you have to climb a famous historical mountain? Later, I checked the earliest extant Laiwu county annals, written by Jiajing, a county magistrate in Laiwu area. I was relieved to see that a mountain in the upper left corner was marked with the word "Xiangshan" in the first volume of "County Map". But why is it called "Xiangshan"? In Volume 2, Sheng Xing, there are more than 20 mountains in Laiwu, but there is no Xiangshan, and the word "Xiangshan" has never been found in the county annals of this department. Later, I read such a passage from a "Laiwu County Records" during the Kangxi period: "The Xiangshan Mountain, 60 miles northwest of the county seat and 20 miles high, is like a flag, producing vanilla and fragrant after the rain." Only then did I know that Xiangshan in Laiwu District was named because of its "fragrant smell".

For many years, this fragrant mountain has been hidden in the deep mountains. Only in recent years, with the development of tourism, she unveiled the mysterious veil and gradually showed her delicate and handsome face to the world.

One autumn morning three years ago, I climbed the main peak of Xiangshan Mountain. On the top of the mountain, I saw a stone tablet that stood in the seventh year of the Republic of China. The inscription reads: "The fragrant grass is full of fragrance and there are many fragrant bacteria. What is the name of Xiangshan? " There are not only herbs, but also "fragrant bacteria". That day, on the way down the mountain, I met an old man. The old man is carrying a basket with some persimmons in it. When I saw the old man's straight body and light footsteps, I thought he was over 60 years old. Who knows, the old man is 89 years old. I quickly took the old man's basket and chatted with him as I walked. The old man said that there used to be an herb called thyme on this mountain. When he was a child, he was everywhere. There are also many mushrooms in the pine forest. Their ancestors lived on the thin mountain on the hillside and this medicinal straw mushroom. That herb is a kind of medicinal material, which can cure all diseases. Mushrooms are also good ingredients. I collected herbs and mushrooms and sold them. Then I bought some needles and thread, as well as oil, salt, sauce and vinegar. The old man also told a legend he heard from his grandmother when he was a child. Legend has it that one day, grandma Taishan on Mount Tai in the west was cruising here and was suddenly fascinated by a strange smell. Grandma Taishan doesn't know where this strange smell comes from. She looked everywhere, but couldn't find it, so she drove Xiangyun to look around. Suddenly, she found that the south slope of the highest mountain was full of colorful flowers. It's beautiful. Smell it carefully It was from that hillside that the strange smell floated. Grandma Taishan recognized that it was a kind of wild grass called thyme, and it was also a valuable herb. The next day, she brought a young monk from Taishan Temple and asked him to come here to manage this hillside. The young monk is very serious. He transplanted herbs to every corner of the mountain and gave them to people in the surrounding villages. One year, dozens of miles of people in Fiona Fang, Fiona Fang, contracted a strange disease. They didn't think about eating. They were weak and many people died. It is this herb that cured the disease. However, I don't know when there are fewer and fewer herbs on this mountain, which disappeared decades ago.

Finally, the old man said, "However, this fragrant hill is getting more and more fragrant now. A few years ago, general manager Zhang came here and planted all the flowers and trees in this ravine. This flower has withered, and that flower has blossomed, almost all year round, and it is full of fragrance. "

I believe what the old man said. In recent years, due to work reasons, I go to Xiangshan Scenic Area several times every year and get familiar with the general manager Dicky Cheung, the developer of the scenic spot.

At the beginning of 20 10, Dicky Cheung gave up his job as the deputy general manager of Shandong Lu Jian Engineering Group with an annual salary of several hundred thousand and came to the depths of this forest. Since then, he has invested more than 4 million yuan to repair the mountain that was riddled with holes due to indiscriminate mining and excavation; Planting more than 20,000 trees 1.2 thousand, such as Pinus armandii and Acer mono; Opened a highway around the mountain with a total length of more than 90 kilometers; On the basis of maintaining the original ecology of the canyon, wonders such as "Nine Days Gallery" and "Colorful Valley" have been developed. There are more than 30 scenic spots such as Yixiantian, Shibapan, Yuhuangding, butterfly spring and observation deck. Nine large and small ponds and dams were built. In less than four years, this 53-square-kilometer mountain peak has been built into a national 4A-level scenic spot. It is particularly worth mentioning that in order to make Xiangshan truly "fragrant", he also hired the Landscape College of Tongji University to plan and design, and planted more than 600,000 trees such as Yingchun, Apricot, Peach, Cherry Blossom, Magnolia and Sophora japonica. More than 20 gardens have been planted, such as rose garden, peony garden, osmanthus garden and chrysanthemum garden. There are more than 300 acres of big gardens and dozens of acres of small gardens. After the Spring Festival, all kinds of flowers are in full bloom, and the fragrance is overflowing, which is refreshing.

On a weekend in late May last year, my friends and I went to Xiangshan to watch the annual Sophora Flower Festival. At that time, the Sophora japonica outside the mountain had been in bloom for more than 20 days, and it had declined, while the Sophora japonica in Xiangshan was in full bloom. Ten thousand mu of Sophora japonica valley is as white as snow. Wandering in the locust tree forest, the fragrance of locust tree is intoxicating. There used to be hundreds of Robinia pseudoacacia trees in the valley, but after Mr. Zhang came, he planted more than 200 thousand trees.

I happened to meet manager Zhang that day. During the conversation, I asked, "Teacher Zhang, what do you want to do by giving up the comfortable life in a big city, leaving your family behind and investing so much money?"

Manager Zhang smiled and said meaningfully, "What painting? Imagine the green of this mountain, the green of this water and the fragrance of this flower. " Mr. Zhang was originally from Tai 'an. When I first met him a few years ago, he still spoke authentic Tai 'an dialect, but now he has no foreign accent.

A few bees landed on a white short-sleeved shirt. A friend joked, "Teacher Zhang, you have been here for a long time, and your body smells of flowers. Bees use you as a flowering tree to collect flowers and make honey. "

On March 9 this year, I walked into Xiangshan again with the collecting group of the District Writers Association. That afternoon, at the steep cliff village at the foot of Xiangshan Mountain, I came across a stone tablet engraved with four poems:

Big history, short eaves.

The cold wind is wild, so it is pale in Guizhou.

It is said that in ancient times, when a court official went to court to ask questions, there was often an object called argumentative paper on his desk. Avengers are legendary beasts, often used to symbolize "fairness and justice". Pianshi, an official in charge of criminal law, law enforcement and supervision. Small eaves, low eaves, refer to small and simple houses. Refers to the common people of Li nationality. It is easy to see that these four poems praise an official. Looking through all kinds of classics, I found no records of these poems. In local chronicles, I only recorded the deeds of a man named Guo Gong. After consulting historical materials many times, I learned that the official's name was Guo Jingchang.

Kangxi's "Laiwu County Records" contains: "In the twelfth year of Chongzhen (1639), bandits started ... thieves gathered in Xiangshan, northwest of the county, and rode into the mountain alone according to Guo Gong, frankly comforting thieves. Thieves are grateful and willing to be good citizens. Because I am standing in the mountains. After Guo Gong was arrested for something, the shepherd saw tears. " Since ancient times, officials have forced the people to rebel, especially in the late Ming Dynasty. Guo Jingchang, a scholar, rode into the "bandit" nest alone. How brave he is! He could have led well-trained officers and men into the mountains to encircle and encircle, and the "thieves" had long been vulnerable, ranging from beheading to implicating the nine clans. Even if Guo Jingchang wants to fight behind enemy lines first, he can send an eloquent man to be a lobbyist and persuade him not to fight again, which is considered forbearance. How did Guo Jingchang convince the thieves with his golden words and jade words, so that the thieves were grateful and willing to be good citizens? There was no inscription, only the word "open" was found in the county annals, and I didn't find any records in other history books. In fact, there is no need to look up history books. The inscription of 16 is self-evident, because they are all in the hearts of "thieves" and their descendants.

At the foot of Xiangshan Mountain, there is a pool called Black Dragon Pool. Black Dragon Pool has been listed as one of the eight scenic spots in Laiwu since the Ming Dynasty. It is called "Deep Pool Dragon Scene" and has a poem: "The water-cooled mirror is cold and the spirit is flat. There is a thunder around the pool, and the savage incense goes to the altar. " There is a small preface before the poem: "(Black Dragon Pool) is sixty miles northwest of the county seat. This pool is very deep. There is the Longwang Temple, which is visited by many people in case of drought and rain. " (Ming Jiajing's "Laiwu County Records") According to historical records, in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, if it didn't rain for a long time, the magistrate of a county led the masses to the Black Dragon Pool to pray for the dragon king and pray for rain all their lives. There is no record in the history books that a magistrate of a county led the people to beg for rain in Heilongtan, but I did read a poem by Ye Fangheng, a magistrate of Laiwu, about going to Heilongtan to beg for rain during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. In fact, the poem was not asking for rain, but it rained on the way back from asking for rain. The title of the poem is "Pray for rain on the way home from Black Dragon Pool";

If you pray, you can still answer. Wet your clothes with the car.

Forget muddy roads and skidding, just love to return in the rain.

Ye Fangheng went to the Black Dragon Pool for rain, and it really happened. It began to rain on his way back. The rain wet his clothes and the road became muddy and difficult to walk, but he ignored it completely and was just happy. Today, Black Dragon Pool is still a good place for people to visit Xiangshan. Of course, people don't ask for rain today.

Ye Fangheng is also an outstanding county magistrate in Laiwu history. In the eighth year of Kangxi (1669), he served as the magistrate of Laiwu. "When there is drought year after year, he just got out of the car and prayed to God when the rain started." He appeased the refugees and prepared to repatriate; He "founded a leading academy in the west of the city, gave sixteen lectures on training the people, tried students' literature and art every month, and encouraged them to bend down and walk", and students rushed to buy wine and delivered it in person; He "devoted himself to farming, and paid attention to vilen in the Spring and Autumn Period and Zhou Dynasty", and raised money to prepare for the disaster by antique method; He presided over the compilation of county annals that had been in disrepair for more than a hundred years, leaving precious historical materials for future generations; When he was in office, the administration was simple and the punishment was clear, and the waste was repeated ... "Since Liu Chen and Yingchuan, there was only one person." People compared him with Fan Dan, a famous county magistrate in Laiwu history and even in ancient China, and Han Shao, a native of Yingchuan. Is Ye Fang Hengde not "fragrant"?

It is called "Xiangshan" because the grass is full of fragrance, but the story that happened in stony mountain more than 370 years ago, the "lofty history" in the story, the county magistrate who only loves to return in the rain, and Mr. Zhang who made the mountain "fragrant" again more than 370 years later can't be "fragrant".

Xiangshan, it smells good!
