About the author:
Wu Han (1909- 1969) was born in Yiwu, Zhejiang. A famous historian. 193 1 was admitted to the history department of Tsinghua University, majoring in Ming history, and was called "Tai Shigong". After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), he served as deputy mayor of Beijing, director of the Institute of History of China Academy of Sciences, director of the China Historical Society, member of the Standing Committee of the 2nd and 3rd Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, member of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences of China Academy of Sciences, and representative of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd National People's Congress. Persecuted during the Cultural Revolution and died unjustly. His main works include Biography of Zhu Yuanzhang, History as a Mirror, Notes on History, Collection of Throwing Guns, Collection of Hai Rui Dismissed from Office, Collection under the Lamp, Collection of Spring, A Brief History of Ming Dynasty, A Brief History of Catalogers in Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces, etc.
