Cloth is an ancient handicraft that Bulang women are good at. Peel the recovered kudzu vine, tear it into thin strips and stretch it step by step. Several strands of tape are woven into warps. Bulang women have learned to weave cloth since childhood, but they can't weave cloth, so they will be looked down upon.

The Bulang people in the workers' and peasants' alliance area do more business. After 1980, Zhao Jiafu, a farmer of Bulang nationality in Gongxian County, contracted primary tea making and became a farmer entrepreneur. The Bulang people in Bank and Davin have a weak sense of business and little business activities. In recent years, expressways have been opened to traffic and commerce has flourished. There are farmers engaged in slaughtering, tobacco and alcohol wholesale in Bangcun.

Before the people's government was established, Bulang people generally had a hard life. More than half of the people are short of food, and wild vegetables and wild fruits satisfy their hunger. Some people make a living by "selling jobs", and some young people become vagrants, doing long-term and short-term jobs in places called "Lower England" such as the Yugur people in Myanmar, and doing the heaviest farm work.

After the establishment of the people's government, the life of Bulang people has gradually improved. Since the 1980s, most places have solved the problem of food and clothing. Most villages are tiled. There are more than 0/40 households in Daan Village/KLOC-previously "cage houses", but now there are only 2 households. The promotion of Bulang people in Monkou and Shahe is more obvious, with a large proportion of tea income and a high degree of commercialization. Primary education is basically universal, with college graduates and professional and technical cadres.
