Lu's Spring and Autumn Annals is the refinement and concentration of hundred schools of thought's thought and theory in the pre-Qin period. The book combines the ideas of Taoism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Mohism, Yin and Yang in one furnace, taking its strengths and eliminating its shortcomings, and becoming a system of its own.

It inherited the Taoist thought of doing nothing, turned it into the cause of the monarch and the behavior of ministers, and abandoned the thought of passive avoidance and retrogression.

Inherited the legalist thought of rule of law and removed his thought of "strictness without morality"; Inherited the Mohist thought of respecting the virtuous and respecting the dead, but neglected his thought of knowing the gods and ghosts.

Inherited the Confucian thought of "monarch, minister, father and son, husband and wife" and loyalty, filial piety, benevolence and righteousness, but did not put it in the supreme position, and so on, and incorporated some fragments of various thoughts into their own system.

value

Although Lv's Spring and Autumn Annals was not adopted by Qin Shihuang, it became the forerunner of Taoism in the early Han Dynasty and played an important role in the ideological construction of feudal society. The old historical news and knowledge about astronomy, phenology, agriculture, medicine, military affairs, philosophy and music preserved in the book are of great value to the study of pre-Qin history and culture.

Its annotations include Lu Chunqiu Hui Jiao by Gao, Jiang Weiqiao and Yang Kuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Lu Chunqiu Ji Jie, Lu Chunqiu Jie Jie, and Zhang Shuangdi's Lu Chunqiu Jie Jie.
