The School of History and Culture was formerly the History Department of Lanzhou University. From 65438 to 0946, the history department of Lanzhou University was formally established, and scholars such as Gu Jiegang, a famous master of Chinese studies, and Shi Nianhai, a master of historical geography, taught in the department. After liberation, the history department developed vigorously, and famous professors such as Zhao Lisheng, Zhang Menglun, Li Tianqi and Tang Jifang appeared. Through the efforts of previous scholars, our department has established its position in the history department of national colleges and universities, and at the same time has created a "hard, rigorous and realistic" style of study. In 2004, the Department of History was transformed into the College of History and Culture. At the end of 20 10, related disciplines set up a separate ethnology research institute.
