Yucheng is naturally related to Dayu. Yucheng was once called Zhu Guo, Zhu Ke and Zhu. In the first year of Tianbao in the Tang Dynasty (742), Li Longji, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, changed Grazing County to Yucheng County to commemorate Dayu's contribution to water control, which was the beginning of Yucheng's name. Since 742, Yucheng County has a history of 1200 years, and is called the Millennium old county.
It is said that Yucheng is a successful place for Dayu to control water, and there are many relics left by Dayu in Yucheng, such as Yuxi Ancient City, Yuji Pavilion, Tuhai River, Yu Di and Juqiu Mountain.
