Brief introduction of the author

Lv Simian (1884- 1957), born in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, was taught by his parents and friends when he was young. He entered the county school at the age of 15. In his early years, he taught in Changzhou Xishan Primary School and Changzhou Affiliated Middle School. Among the students were Qian Mu, Zhao Yuanren and others, who later became great writers and historians. After 1926, he taught at Guanghua University for a long time and became a professor at East China Normal University after liberation. He reads widely, pays attention to comprehensive research, and pays attention to mastery. In his life, he wrote two general histories of China, four dynastic histories and five special histories, together with a large number of historical books enjoying high reputation in the historical circles, totaling more than ten thousand words 10.
