The predecessor of Jian Nanchun was Mianzhu Daqu, and later it was renamed Jian Nanchun. Jiannanchun is a high-grade wine in China, which is as famous as Maotai and Wuliangye.
Mianzhu Daqu, later Jian Nanchun, was once an exclusive tribute of the royal family. Jiannanchun is carefully brewed with sorghum, rice, wheat, corn and glutinous rice as raw materials and the famous spring rain and flying spring as water-based by traditional techniques. It has a unique style of "rich aroma, mellow sweetness, refreshing taste and long aftertaste", belongs to Luzhou-flavor liquor and is known as "Little Wuliangye".
At present, the price of ordinary grade Jian Nanchun is 150 yuan, while the high-grade one ranges from 200-400 yuan (the retail price in Beijing is as of 2007 1 month).
