At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a man named Zhao Wei. When he was still studying as a child, he saw Guo and thought he was a rare good teacher. He said to people, "It is easy to find a teacher who can teach people to be teachers, but it is not easy to find one." Guo, on the other hand, became a famous scholar because of his intensive reading of various classic works.
Later, he went to Luoyang, the capital, to be an official, and resolutely decided to worship Guo Wei, who was far away in Nanyang, and sent handmaiden to serve the teacher. However, Guo was weak and sick, and once he asked him to cook medicine for him himself.
When he came in with the boiled medicine, Guo scolded him for boiling it too hot and cooked it again. After delivery, Guo said the medicine was too bitter. This happened three times in a row. The fourth time, when he took medicine again and didn't look bad, Guo smiled and said, "I only saw your appearance before, but today I finally saw your sincerity!" "
So he was overjoyed and passed on what he had learned all his life to Zhao Wei. He eventually became a great Confucian scholar in the history of China.
