The Development Course of China Youth Volunteer Service Day
Since March 5th, 1963, Mao Zedong and other older generation parties and countries called for "learning from Comrade Lei Feng", March 5th has become a traditional activity day for all walks of life, especially young people.

It is reported that from March to May, 2000, all localities will widely mobilize and guide young people to carry out voluntary service activities with the theme of "hand in hand, caring for the west, millions of volunteers entering the community, greening the surrounding environment and building a beautiful home" around the key areas of social concern.

In 2000, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and chinese young volunteers association jointly decided to take March 5th every year as "China Youth Volunteer Service Day" to organize young people to carry out volunteer service activities with rich contents and various forms. It has become a common practice in many areas in recent years to carry out various forms and contents of voluntary service activities on March 5. Volunteers (that is, volunteers) refer to people who take part in social services in their spare time without any remuneration.
