Except beckenbauer (1972 and 1976), sammer (1996), Cannavaro (2006) and other backcourt players, other Golden Globe winners in recent decades have all come from attacking players in the middle and front court.

Among beckenbauer, sammer and Cannavaro, beckenbauer and sammer tend to be "sweepers" or "freemen". They can win the Golden Globe Award, and the judges also commend their contributions in Attack. They are good at organizing and launching defensive attacks, and can even score goals by themselves.

Only Cannavaro was the defender who won the Golden Globe Award for his excellent defensive performance in 2006. That year, Cannavaro first lost 24 goals in 38 Serie A matches with Buffon Thuram and other old friends.

Then in the 2006 World Cup, Cannavaro played seven games, and the Italian team only conceded two goals, one was an own goal by Zaccardo in the group match and the other was a penalty by Zidane in the final. In seven games, the Italian team didn't concede a goal in any sports competition.
