Today, let's talk about temples. I believe everyone has learned from TV books. There are two kinds of temples, one for monks and the other for nuns. It is absolutely not allowed to confuse the two, because Buddhism is quite sacred and it is impossible to live together. But in China and Tibet, a temple broke this rule.
As many people know, the temple is actually a mysterious place with many taboos and rules. If we go outside, we must obey them, but there are exceptions to everything. This temple at an altitude of 5 100 meters is called Rongbu Temple, and it is also the highest temple in the world. It is less than 20 kilometers from the summit of Mount Everest. It is conceivable that here it is.
The Rongbu Temple is built on the mountain, and its water source is spring water from three glaciers on the northern slope of Mount Everest, namely, the Rongbu Glacier in West Sichuan, the Rongbu Glacier in East China and the Rongbu Glacier in Middle China. Rongbu Temple stands here, facing the snow-capped mountains and melting with glacial facies. The first feeling when I came here was quiet, really quiet. The stupa stands in the temple, and Rongbu Temple has five floors. Monks generally only use the lower two floors in their daily life, but only occasionally use the upper three floors.
Although the altitude here is so high, relatively speaking, what is more surprising is not the altitude, nor the suffering of the monks here. The most surprising thing is that monks and nuns live together. Generally speaking, monks and nuns live together, which is almost impossible in Buddhist temples.
Actually originated from 1982. Because of the harsh environment, temples can only be integrated, so a temple where monks and nuns practice together is integrated. The north side is the monk residential area, and the south side is the nun residential area. Although both of them live around a temple, there is still a wall in the middle. Many netizens joked that if there is no fence, I really dare not think about it!
When we arrived at the Rongbu Temple, the most attractive place was Mount Everest. It takes only 15 minutes by car from here to reach Everest base camp. If you want to see Mount Everest here, you should choose morning or evening. It's the best and clearest time to see Mount Everest. Remember not to miss the foothold of Rongbu Temple when you come to Tibet!
