Main styles of eyebrows in Tang Dynasty
Eyebrow types in Tang Dynasty: long eyebrows, short eyebrows, moth eyebrows and wide eyebrows were alternately popular, and various eyebrow types formed the most abundant period of eyebrow climbing in China history.

In the early Tang dynasty, women preferred willow eyebrows and crescent eyebrows, which were wider than willow eyebrows and curved like crescent moons. In the era of Tang Gaozong and Wu Zetian, wide eyebrows became popular, advocating length, width and thickness, and they were very eye-catching when painted on the face. The shape and painting of wide eyebrows have also changed in different periods. The popular eyebrow makeup in the prosperous Tang Dynasty included moth eyebrows, distant eyebrows and blue eyebrows, which were thinner and lighter than broad eyebrows. The silk paintings of this era unearthed from the tomb of Astana Tang in Turpan, Xinjiang, have the image of a woman with this eyebrow makeup. From the mid-Tang Dynasty to the late Tang Dynasty, there were eyebrow shapes such as eight-character eyebrow, crow eyebrow and laurel leaf eyebrow, among which laurel leaf eyebrow was the most representative, shaped like laurel leaf, wide and thick.
