China's masterpiece in the history of cold weapons-Tang Dynasty Cross Knife
Tangdao, the general name of Dao in Tang Dynasty, is the pinnacle of China's ancient sword history. In the cavalry of the Tang Dynasty, the number of straight knives was as high as 30%. The straight knife in Tang dynasty is different from the ring knife in Han dynasty. It removes the ring at the tail of the ring knife and extends the short handle into a long handle that can be used by both hands, so that it can play a greater role in the battlefield.

One of the biggest characteristics of tangdao is that it greatly enhances the armor-piercing ability of the blade while maintaining its exquisite appearance. Even an ordinary soldier can use it to play a good role.

Its blade is forged with 100 stripe steel, and the high-quality tangdao is made of Baotou steel. However, a finished product of tangdao had to be forged dozens of times, so it was a terrible weapon-like armor in the Tang Dynasty at that time, which could not stop tangdao's sharp chopping.

In that dynasty, tangdao became the top weapon in the world at that time, combining the most advanced knife-making technology in the world. Therefore, Tangdao's performance is far superior to that of his contemporaries. Japanese aristocrats regarded owning an imported China sword as a special honor, and even the Japanese emperor at that time was envious, praising the sword as the essence of China.

In the Tang Dynasty, the ladle technology adopted by Tang Dao was very advanced in the world at that time, which was different from the ladle technology we are talking about now. The difference between ladle process and ladle process is that one is hard and the other is soft and hard. Baotou steel method is to wrap the steel outside the malleable wrought iron and forge it together. The sword made by ladle method has high hardness, strong lethality when chopping, more flexible blade and less sword.

The ancients developed a famous heat treatment process, which is what we now call covering the soil and burning the blade. Covering the soil and burning the blade means coating special materials on the outside of the blade and heating and quenching it with a sword. At the moment of quenching, the exposed blade cools quickly and becomes harder, while the covered part cools slowly, thus maintaining a better toughness blade body.

Although the historical records and physical objects left by tangdao are extremely limited, this production technology and skill have been passed down for generations and deeply excavated by modern craftsmen, and have continued to this day. It has become the most sophisticated production technology and sabre, and its excellent quality has been widely recognized by Tibetan Dao people, and it is recognized as the pinnacle of China Dao.
