How did Yang Ye die in history?
Yang Ye (about 932-986) was born in Qin Xin, Linzhou (now Shenmu North, Shaanxi). A famous soldier in the Song Dynasty.

Father Yang Xin, a local tyrant in Linzhou, was born in Linzhou (now Shenmu North, Shaanxi). The later Han Dynasty's "secretariat of history" belonged to the later Han Dynasty and the later Zhou Dynasty. Yang Xin's second son, the eldest son is expensive, and the second son is retrained. Yang Chonggui served Liu Chong, the ancestor of the Northern Han Dynasty. In order to continue his career, the Northern Han Emperor changed his surname to Liu. This famous Chinese and foreign star has been good at riding and shooting since he was a child, loves hunting and has high martial arts. He joined the Northern Han regime in Taiyuan in his twenties and was trusted and reused by the Northern Han emperor. At that time, Song Taizu had established the Dasong Dynasty, and the overall situation of national reunification was set. Yang Jiye's suggestion of "returning the Song Dynasty" to the Northern Han Emperor met with opposition. But he did not change his mind to vote for Song Dynasty, but gave his life to defend the Northern Han regime. Later, the Northern Han Dynasty was defeated, but Yang Jiye still struggled with Song Jun in the south of the city. Song Taizong had long heard that Yang Jiye was a brave general, so he sent his cronies to surrender. Seeing the emissary sent by the emperor, Yang Jiye wept bitterly and surrendered to the Song Dynasty. He was appointed General Zuo, knowing the deployment and military forces stationed in Daizhou. Stationed in Daizhou, the Battle of Wild Goose Gate defeated Qidan. Later, as soon as the Khitan saw Yang Jiye's military flag, he immediately withdrew. People gave a nickname, called "Yang Invincible". Since then, Yang Jiye has been preparing for the northern Khitan.

Song Taizu spent thirteen years destroying the five southern countries, and then sent troops to attack Taiyuan, the capital of the Northern Han Dynasty. Northern Han invited Liao Dynasty to send troops to help, and Song Jun was defeated. Soon, Song Taizu also fell ill and died, and his younger brother Zhao Kuangyi succeeded to the throne. This is Song Taizong.

Song Taizong is determined to complete the cause of reunifying the north. In 979, he personally led four armies to besiege Taiyuan, the capital of the Northern Han Dynasty. Liao army came to help again and sent troops to cut off the main road of reinforcements. Taiyuan City is surrounded by Song Jun, and there are no reinforcements outside, and there is no hay inside. Liu Jiyuan of North Hanwang had no choice but to surrender. Liu Jiyuan has a veteran, Yang Ye, who also joined the Song Dynasty. Song Taizong had long heard that Yang Ye had high martial arts skills and valued him very much, so he was appointed as a general.

Song Taizong destroyed the Northern Han Dynasty and wanted to attack Liao and recover the lost land in the North. Song Jun's offensive was sharp, and Liao generals in several northern states surrendered in succession. Song Jun has been playing in Youzhou (now Beijing). Later, the Liao Dynasty sent general Yelvxiuge to save him. The two sides fought fiercely in the Gaoliang River (now west of Beijing), and Song Bing was defeated. Song Taizong took a donkey cart and fled back to Tokyo.

Since then, the Liao army has been attacking the border of the Song Dynasty. Song Taizong was very worried, so he sent Yang Ye as the secretariat of Daizhou to guard Yanmenguan.

In 980 AD, the Liao Dynasty sent 100,000 troops to attack Yanmenguan. At that time, there were only a few thousand troops in Yang Ye, and their strength varied greatly. Yang Ye, an experienced veteran, knew that recklessness was not enough, so he left most of his troops in Daizhou, led hundreds of cavalry himself, and quietly bypassed the path north of Yanmenguan to the enemy's rear.

Liao soldiers marched south, but they did not encounter resistance along the way, and they were elated. Suddenly, there was a shout of killing from behind, only to see smoke billowing, and a group of cavalry came from behind, slashing like tigers rushing into sheep. Liao soldiers were unprepared, and they couldn't figure out how many troops came behind. They were all frightened and the lineup was in chaos. Where can they resist? They fled to the north. Yang Ye led the troops to chase, killing a large number of Liao soldiers, killing a Liao nobleman and taking a Liao general alive.

After the victory of Yanmenguan, Yang Ye became famous. When Liao soldiers saw the "Yang" banner, they were too scared to fight. People gave Yang Ye a nickname, called "Yang Invincible".

Yang Ye has made great contributions, and also aroused the envy of some frontier generals. Someone wrote a letter to Song Taizong and said many bad things about Yang Ye. Song Taizong expects Yang Ye to ignore those false accusations and send those envelopes to Yang Ye. Yang Jiye was naturally moved to see that Song Taizong trusted him so much.

A few years later, Ye died in Liao Dynasty. Ye Longxu, the emperor of the Liao Dynasty, was only twelve years old and his mother acceded to the throne. A frontier general wrote a letter to Song Taizong, arguing that the political changes in Liao Dynasty just took this opportunity to recover the lost land of sixteen states. Song Taizong accepted this opinion. In 986 AD, Song Taizong sent Cao Bin, Tian Chongjin and Pan Mei to lead the northern expedition of the three armed forces, and sent Yang Ye as the lieutenant of Pan Mei.

The three armies split up and won. Pan Mei and Yang Ye went out of Yanmenguan and soon recovered four states.

Among them, the East Route Army led by Cao Bin gradually fell behind because of poor food and grass, and the Middle Route Army Tian Chongjin was later defeated. Song Jun's defeat was a foregone conclusion, so Song Taizong ordered Song Jun to retreat. However, the marked army led by Pan Mei still has a task, which is to cover the retreat of the people in Sizhou.

Pan Mei and Yang Ye received orders, led the troops to cover four states people retreat to Langya village. At that time, the Liao army had occupied Zhou Huan (now east of Shuoxian County, Shanxi Province), and its troops were very fierce. Yang Ye suggested sending troops to feint to attract the main force of Liao army, and sending troops to ambush in the main road of retreat to cover the retreat of soldiers and civilians.

Wang Shu, the supervisor of the army, objected to Yang Ye's opinion and said, "We have brought tens of thousands of elite soldiers, but we are still afraid of them. I think we should March along Yanmen Road in a big way to make the enemy afraid. "

Yang Ye said: "Now that the enemy is strong and we are weak, this will definitely fail."

Wang Shu said in a sarcastic tone: "Isn't General Yang invincible? Do you have any other plans to flinch in front of the enemy now? "

This sentence angered Yang Ye. He said: "I'm not afraid of death, but when I see the bad timing, I'm afraid the soldiers will die in vain." You must fight, I can take the lead. "

Lord Pan Mei also supports Wang Shu's idea. Yang Ye had no choice but to set off with his hands. When he left, he said to Pan Mei in tears, "This battle is doomed to failure. I want to seize the opportunity, defeat the enemy and serve my country. Now everyone blames me for avoiding the enemy, so I have to die first. "

Then he pointed to Chen Jiayu (now south of Shuoxian County, Shanxi Province) and said to Pan Mei, "I hope you will ambush infantry and crossbowmen on both sides of this valley mouth. After my defeat, I will retreat here, and you will lead the troops to meet me and attack from both sides. There may be hope of turning defeat into victory. "

Yang Ye didn't send troops far, but was ambushed by the Liao army. Yang Ye was brave, and Liao soldiers surged up like a flood. Yang Ye played for a while, unable to resist, so he had to fight and retreat, and led the Liao army to Chen Jiayu.

When we arrived in Chen Jiayu, it was just when the sun went down. Yang Ye retreated to Taniguchi, only to find that both sides were quiet, and there was no sign of Song Jun. Where did the main force led by Pan Mei go? Originally, after Yang Ye left, Pan Mei once led troops to Chen Jiayu. I waited all day, but there was no news of Yang Ye. Wang Shu thought that the Liao soldiers must have retreated. Afraid that Yang Ye would take the lead, he urged Pan Mei to withdraw the ambush and left Chen Jiayu. When they heard that Yang Ye was defeated, they fled to another road.

When Yang Ye saw that there was no one to meet him at the appointed place, he stamped his feet with anger, so he had to lead his men to turn around and fight the Liao soldiers who caught up with him, and all the soldiers fought bravely to kill the enemy. However, there are more and more Liao soldiers. Later, only 100 soldiers were left around Yang Ye. With tears in his eyes, he said loudly to the soldiers, "You all have your own parents and families. Don't die here with me. Break through quickly and let the court know our situation. "

Hearing these words, the soldiers were moved to tears when they watched Yang Ye fight bloody battles. None of them wants to leave Yang Ye. Finally, all the soldiers died, as well as Yang Ye's son Yang Yanyu and his subordinate Wang Gui. Yang Ye was wounded in more than a dozen places, covered in blood, and rushed back and forth, killing hundreds of enemies. Unexpectedly, an arrow flew in and hit his horse, which fell to the ground and threw him off. Liao soldiers took the opportunity to surround him and captured him.

After Yang Ye was captured, Liao will persuade him to surrender. He looked up and sighed and said, "I, Yang Ye, originally wanted to destroy the enemy and serve the country. I didn't expect to be framed by treacherous court officials and completely annihilated. How dare you live in the world? " He fasted in Liaoying for three days and nights and died. At the age of 55 (59).

The news of Yang Ye's death reached Tokyo, and the whole court mourned for him. Song Taizong naturally felt sad at the loss of a brave general. Pan Mei was demoted and Wang Shu was dismissed for investigation.

After Yang Ye's death, his descendants inherited his father's career, and his sons Yang and grandson Yang made contributions in the war to defend the border of the Song Dynasty. Their family's heroic deeds are recited and praised by people, and the Yang Jiajiang stories circulated among the people are developed according to their deeds.
