What are the four customs in Guanzhong?
The so-called four passes in Guanzhong refer to Hangu Pass, Wuguan Pass, Chencang Pass and Xiaoguan Pass. Among them, Hanguguan was replaced by Tongguan in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The following is the introduction of the four customs in Guanzhong.
Where are the four passes in Guanzhong now?
Hanguguan: There are many buildings in later generations, and it was renamed Tongguan. The Yellow River flows from the upper reaches to the west, joins the Weihe River and bends eastward. From here on, on both sides of the river, nature fully demonstrated her uncanny workmanship: on both sides of the north and south, Huashan, hills and Zhongtiaoshan stood by the river, with high banks and deep valleys on both sides, which were very steep. The passage between Guanzhong and the Central Plains runs through the mountains at the northern foot of Huashan Mountain and the northern foot of the hill for hundreds of miles, all of which are "irregular tracks". Hangu Pass stands on the basis of risks and charges matters.
Property management: located nearly 200 miles southeast of Shangzhou, Shaanxi. Fresh water, a tributary of the Hanjiang River, runs through the eastern mountainous area of Qinling Mountains from northwest to southeast, cutting out a long and narrow valley, which becomes a channel for north-south communication in the eastern Qinling Mountains. This passage goes up along the northwest, and after crossing the Qinling watershed, it can go directly to Lantian, approach Chang 'an (Xianyang), and then go down to the southeast to reach Nanyang Basin. Wuguan stands at its southeast exit and is the southeast gateway of Guanzhong.
Dasanguan: Located about 50 miles west of Baoji City, Shaanxi Province. The boundary between the western end of Qinling Mountain and Longshan Mountain is a low valley in the upper reaches of Jialing River and an important passage between the western Qinling Mountains. Sanguan is at the northern end of this passage. This pass is the throat between Guanzhong, Hanzhong and Bashu, and the north and south compete for it. There is no customs clearance in the north, no plan in Hanzhong Bashu, no customs clearance in the south and no plan in Guanzhong.
Xiaoguan: Also known as Longshan Pass, it is located in the southeast of Guyuan, Ningxia. Longshan mountain range is a natural barrier in the northwest of Guanzhong. The passage from Longshang to Guanzhong is mainly a valley lowland formed by the confluence of Weihe River and Jinghe River. The mountains in the direction of Weihe River are steep, while Jinghe River is easier to enter Guanzhong. Xiao Guan stood at the Longshan Pass, guarding the passage from Jinghe to Guanzhong. Xiaoguan is an important pass in the northwest of Guanzhong, which protects the safety of the northwest of Guanzhong. In addition to these four blockades, there is also a ferry that has to be mentioned. This is a Yellow River ferry named Pujin, and the town guarding the ferry is Puban. It is located in today's Zhou Pu City, Shaanxi Province, with the big river in the west. This is an extremely important springboard from Shanxi to Guanzhong and a bridgehead from Guanzhong to Shanxi.
The four blockades in Guanzhong, plus a general class, can be described as dangerous and impregnable. However, looking at the process of China's ancient reunification, the rising political forces in Guanzhong were not limited to the four blockades, but took a more active offensive stance. With the development of history, the Qin and Han Dynasties and the prosperous Tang Dynasty rose in Guanzhong, and the whole Guanzhong Plain became the earliest developed area in China. Due to the needs of political, economic and military development, rulers of past dynasties built Guanzhong, a battleground for military strategists.
If you are lucky enough to come to this place, you must go and see this place full of heroic blood, because it has the world's first pass, the great three passes, and no one can keep it, and more than 40 ancient passes in Hangu Pass, Guanzhong Pass and its surrounding areas in Sanchuan Valley, and feel the historical feelings at that time.
