Tsinghua University is a comprehensive research university, a base for high-level personnel training and scientific and technological research in China, and is known as the "cradle of red engineers". As of August 2022, the school covers an area of 462.74 hectares, with a building area of 3,026,700 square meters.

The school has 12 disciplines, 2/kloc-0 colleges, 59 teaching departments and 87 undergraduate majors, including science, engineering, literature, art, history, philosophy, economics, management, law, teaching, medicine and interdisciplinary subjects.
