Historical Records of the First Emperor's Biography records: "There are three sacred mountains in the sea, named Penglai, Abbot, Yingzhou and Immortal Qiyun".
At that time, people explained that the three mountains were arranged from north to south, Penglai was Japan, the abbot was Ryukyu and Yingzhou was Taiwan Province Province.
Western Han Dynasty-Dongpu
"History of Han Geography" records: "The south of the Yangtze River is wet, and there are many dead husbands. Dong Bin, who is overseas, is divided into more than 20 countries and is 20 years old. " Later, Japanese and China scholars speculated that Toyotomi was not Ryukyu today, but Taiwan Province Province.
Three kingdoms-Yizhou
The biography of the Three Kingdoms and Sun Quan records: "Duke Wen of Wei sent Zhuge Zhi to float on the sea with ten thousand soldiers to seek Yizhou and Yizhou. Yizhou is in the sea, far from being killed. Thousands of people have returned from Yizhou. "
Shen Ying's Coastal Soil and Water Records records: "Yizhou is in the southeast of Linhai", "There is no frost and snow in the land, and the plants will not die", "Women are married, and all of them lack their front teeth" and "I won the battle and was the first to pay back. The atrium is made of a big material, which is more than ten feet high. I linked it to the difference of my income, which shows my achievements for many years. " After Wei Wen and Zhuge arrived in Yizhou, "nine times out of ten, all the people died of illness and epidemic disease."
According to the Records of Coastal Soil and Water in Shen Ying, Yizhou's location, topography, climate, residents, products and customs are described in detail.
Many scholars regard Yizhou as today's Taiwan Province Province, and take Coastal Soil and Water Records as the oldest document about Taiwan Province Province, especially China scholars generally hold this view.
Sui dynasty-a country in exile
The Biography of Sui Shu Dongyi records: "Wandering for the country lives in Haidong, and when Jian 'an County is in the east, it takes five days to travel by water", and "General Chen Ling asked the indigenous people to surrender, but was rejected, so he took thousands of his male and female prisoners and returned with the army".
Sui Shu's vagrancy is similar to the customs, orientation and cultural system of the Three Kingdoms and Yizhou, so scholars believe that Sui Shu's vagrancy is Taiwan Province Province.
From Sui Dynasty to Ming Dynasty, Taiwan Province Province was always called Liuqiu or Liuqiu. It was only when Hongwu was blocked in the Ming Dynasty that Taiwan Province Province was renamed Little Ryukyu, which was different from Ryukyu under Japanese rule.
Southern Song Dynasty-Sheye Kingdom
Yuan dynasty-staying and begging
Wanli of Ming Dynasty-Dong Fan, Daqian and Xiaoqiuqiu
In the Ming Dynasty (Ming Shenzong Wanli 30th year, A.D. 1602), the story of Dong Fan written by Changdi recorded: "Dong Fan people lived on an island outside Penghu, starting from Lingang and Jialaowan, passing through dignitaries, Yaogang, Dagouyu, Xiaoshui, Shuangxikou, Lin Jiali, Sabah and Dabangkeng. Taiwan Province Province is known as "Fan Xiao" and "Dong Fan", and Changdi's "Dong Fan Ji" is the most concrete record about Taiwan Province Province after Yizhou and Sui Shu, Zhufanzhi by Wu of the Three Kingdoms, Ryukyu Story by Shi Ru and A Record of Island Branch by Wang Dayuan.
In the 23rd year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty, the Portuguese crossed the Taiwan Province Strait and looked at the island of Taiwan Province Province, praising it as "YlhaFormosa".
Ming Li Yong-Dudong and Dongning
Yang Yingzhi's "Conscription Records" in the Ming Dynasty recorded: "On the second day of May in the fifteenth year of Li Yong, Chilang was changed to Tokyo, with one government and two counties, and Wannian County of Tianxing County was changed to Ping 'an Town of Taiwan Province Province. "
It is also recorded in Lin Xia's Collection of Seas in the Ming Dynasty: "In March of the eighteenth year of Li Yong, the general prince was recruited to Dongdu. In order to discuss joining the army to manage state affairs in Chen Yonghua, Dongdu was changed to Dongning, and a star was set up for ten thousand years." Therefore, Zheng Ming went to Taiwan Province and named it "Dongdu" and "Dongning".
Qing Dynasty-Taiwan Province Province
Shi Lang, the general of Qing Jinghai, wrote in "Chen Taiwan Province Province Waste Its Benefits" (22nd year of Qing Emperor Kangxi, AD 1683): "Stealing the land of Taiwan Province Province, connecting Wuhui in the north and Jiaodong in the south, stretches for thousands of miles. The steep mountains and rivers and the return of the harbor road are the left guards of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong provinces. The isolated Penghu is an ocean, and the waterway is more than three nights. ..... Taiwan Province Province, originally a foreign country, is mixed with local people and does not enter the territory. "
The so-called "Taiwan Province Province" has always been the proper name of the whole island. In April of the following year, the Qing court established the Taiwan Province government in Tainan City, which was subordinate to Fujian Province, and the official name of "Taiwan Province Province" began.
