The Location and Characteristics of Guyangguan Site
The quaint Yangguantan is located 70 kilometers southwest of Dunhuang City, Gansu Province. The quaint Yangguantan is located 70 kilometers southwest of Dunhuang City, Gansu Province. The pass was set up in the Western Han Dynasty because it was south of Yumenguan, hence the name, Yumenguan was the gateway to the western regions at that time. Yangguan is the throat of ancient land transportation in China and the only way of the Southern Silk Road. There are many Han cultural relics in the scenic area, including Guyangguan site, Yangguan beacon tower, Yangguan ancient road, Shouchangcheng site, Han Great Wall, Wowachi site, Xitugou site, ancient tombs and ancient pottery kilns. In 2006, Yangguan was rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. Yangguan has been rated as a provincial-level cultural industry demonstration base and a patriotic education base in Jiuquan, and won the honorary titles of advanced cultural relics protection unit and the first batch of "historical reappearance" demonstration museums of cultural heritage in Gansu Province. Main scenic spots in Yangguan 1. Yangguan beacon tower Yangguan beacon tower consists of several layers of clods and a layer of reeds. It is now about 4.7 meters high, 8-7.5 meters long at the bottom and 8-6.8 meters long at the top. Climbing to the top of the mountain, Fiona Fang has a panoramic view of dozens of miles, so it is called "the eyes and ears of sunshine". 2. Xitugou (Tangwudaoxi) site Xitugou is a main gully in the west of this area, which generally flows to the northwest. It was named halogen-free ditch in Tang Dynasty. 3. "Yangguan Guancheng" imitates "Yangguan Guancheng" based on the reappearance of "the main entrance of Guyangguan Guancheng, 20 steps from east to west and 27 steps from north to south" in Shazhou Tujing. Imitating Yangguan Guancheng, it is simple and majestic, publicizing the weather of the Han family and embodying historical features.
