The history of Dongxing town
There is a temple called Tianying Temple in Group 2 of Baiyangsi Village in Dongxing Town. It has a 1 niche on a boulder, 2m high, 1.8m wide and 1m deep. Guanyin, Dragon Lady and Auspicious are built in niches. In addition, there are two temple inscriptions built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. In front of the niche stood two arhats, which were 1.8 meters high. The clothing lines of the statue are clear and smooth, which has typical characteristics of the statue in Song Dynasty. This provides important materials for the study of stone carving art in Song Dynasty. In April 2006, the statue of Tianying Temple was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Rongxian County. Because the temple is unattended, there are many spider webs in the temple, the inscriptions are difficult to distinguish, and the stone carvings are seriously damaged. Two Lohan Bodhisattvas were stolen in 2007, and their whereabouts are still unknown. Group 1 of Gengzi Village in Dongxing Town (small place name Hujiaba) is the hometown of Hu, assistant minister of the Ministry of War of the Ming Dynasty (equivalent to today's Deputy Minister of National Defense). Hu was born in Yuan Dynasty to 17th year (AD 1357) and was killed in Nanjing in the early Ming Dynasty. More than 50 years later, during the Tianshun period, her daughter, Hu Jinnv, was over 80 years old and asked the Empress Neigong to bury her father's bones in her hometown. Regrettably, the tomb has been destroyed and there is no trace to be found. There is a well-preserved ancestral temple called Liu Jia in Group 2 of Gengzi Village in Dongxing Town, covering an area of more than 400 square meters. There are many industrial and mining enterprises in Dongxing Town, including Rongxian Natural Gas Purification Plant (formerly No.2 Desulfurization Plant), Dongxing Cement Plant, Rongxian Gao Feng Coal Industry Co., Ltd., Rongxian Lin Zhong Coal Industry Co., Ltd., Roewe Stone Powder Plant, Zigong Beidou Cement Company, etc.
