History of Diesel Engine
Diesel, a French-born German engineer, successfully developed a practical four-stroke diesel engine in 1897. People pay attention to it because it obviously improves the thermal efficiency. At first, diesel engines used air to inject fuel, and the accessories were huge and bulky, which were only used for fixed operations. It was used in ships in the early 20th century, and the first two-stroke marine diesel engine was manufactured in 1905.
1922, Bosch, Germany invented the mechanical jet device, which gradually replaced the air jet. In the late 1920s, high-speed diesel engines appeared and began to be used in automobiles.
In 1950s, some new series and general-purpose diesel engines with more perfect structure and performance were developed, and diesel engines entered the stage of specialized mass production. Especially after adopting exhaust gas turbocharging technology, diesel engine has become the most important part of modern power machinery.
