What is the historical basis of Tang Priest's story of learning from the scriptures?
Historical background: In the first year of Zhenguan of Emperor Taizong, Xuanzang Tianzhu, a 25-year-old monk, was hiking. After he set out from Chang 'an, he passed through Central Asia, Afghanistan and Pakistan, and finally arrived in India through difficulties and obstacles.

He studied there for more than two years and gave a speech at a large-scale debate on Buddhist classics, which was well received. In the 19th year of Zhenguan (645), Xuanzang returned to Chang 'an and brought back 657 Buddhist scriptures, which was a sensation.

After Xuanzang's biography of the Journey to the West, he was compiled into a twelve-volume "Records of the Western Regions of Datang" by his disciples. But this book mainly talks about the history, geography and transportation of various countries seen on the road;

As for "Da Tang The biography of Master Sanzang" written by his disciples Uighur and Yan Cong, it added a lot of mythical colors to Xuanzang's experience, and since then, the story of Tang Priest learning scriptures has been widely circulated among the people in China.
