Xue (A.D. 614—March 24th, 683), born in Longmenxiu Village, Jiangzhou, Shanxi (now Hejinxiu Village, Shanxi), was a famous strategist and politician in the Tang Dynasty.
Xue was born in the Xue family in Hedong. He joined the army at the end of Zhenguan for decades. He defeated the nine surname Tiele, surrendered to Koguryo and defeated the Turks. He has made outstanding achievements, leaving behind stories such as "A good plan to stop the war", "Three arrows to capture the Tianshan Mountains", "Braving Liaodong", "Benevolent administration of North Korea", "Love the people like a city" and "Taking off your hat and retreating ten thousand people from the enemy".
