On July 22nd, Huck died at the age of 30. Alley, who lost her right-hand man, shouldered the burden of continuing to run the school alone in grief. On August 1945 and 15, China won the Anti-Japanese War, and the teachers and students of Shandan Peili School looked forward to the dawn of freedom in the carnival. But after the war, the Kuomintang government no longer provided economic security. Alley ran around, and a large number of international friends lent a helping hand. When the school was very difficult, Alley wrote to her mother in New Zealand, hoping to save the school and the poor children in China with her savings and pension and maternal love. The kind mother realized her son's wish. The staff of Alley Memorial Hall also said that Alley had a girlfriend in America. In the case of very tight funding for running a school, this girlfriend raised money for Alley from the United States to help Alley tide over the difficulties! Ellie has never been married, but she has made unimaginable love and efforts for the poor children and war orphans in Peili School! Before Huck died, he entrusted his four orphans to Alley. Alley also raised two other orphans, namely Duan Shimou, president of Sydney and Lanzhou Peili Petroleum Technical School (1953 Shandan Peili School was renamed after it moved to Lanzhou Anning Shilidian), who worked in the Ministry of Petroleum after liberation. Peili School developed in difficulties and reached its peak at 1948, with more than 400 students. After graduation, they were all assigned to all parts of the country according to their majors.
