Introduce Sun Moon Lake
Sun Moon Lake, formerly known as Shuishalian, is located in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, adjacent to Toushe Basin in the west and Shuishe Mountain in the east, with beautiful water and natural scenery. This pool is the ancestral home of Shao people. After the Han people entered the ground, they were named "Sun Moon Lake" because of its shape like sun gear and the hook of the moon. At full water level, Sun Moon Lake is nearly 748.5 meters above sea level and covers an area of 8.3 square kilometers. The vast waters, leaning against the green hills, are sunny, and the mirror-like lake reflects the green hills and trees, with extraordinary momentum; On stormy days, misty clouds cover the lake, rendering a misty mist, which has a unique charm regardless of the morning and evening of the four seasons, and ranks with the "Double Ponds Reflecting the Moon" as the eight scenic spots in Taiwan.

Humanistic anecdotes add icing on the cake to the story: Sun Moon Lake is a basin built in one day, the highest in Puli basin group and the only one with water storage. Although its lakes are natural, the original water level is much lower than today, and the water level is increased by 25 meters by injecting turbid streams. Sun Moon Lake began to look rich today. The "mountain", the birthplace of Shao's ancestors, has since become a Guanghua "island" surrounded by lakes. It was not until recently that Lao Shao's name "Lalu" was restored. Going to the swimming pool by boat is the best choice to enjoy the lake view. Among many yacht marinas, it is located near Hanbilou and Dehua Society, and the scale is the largest. Large boats can be parked in designated places for tourists to use, and small boats can be used for people to paddle by themselves, rippling with their own flavors. The 24-kilometer-long expressway around the lake is like a hydrophilic green corridor, and it is very pleasant to enjoy the scenery by car. The scenery is quiet and far-reaching, which complements Wu Wen Temple, Peacock Garden, Dazhu Lake, Dehua Society, Xuanzang Temple, Hanbi Building and other places of interest, adding many cultural stories.

Good scenery on natural trails: From lakeside wetlands to virgin broad-leaved forests, the plant communities along the Sun Moon Lake also present colorful faces. There are two main natural trails in the area. One is the Hanbilou Trail, with a total length of 1.5 km. The lake view is close at hand, but it is blocked by trees. Sometimes accompanied by colorful birds, embroidered thrush, mountain red and other low-altitude birds, it is easy and pleasant to walk. The other is the Maolan Mountain Trail, which passes through the fishpond branch of the tea improvement farm. It is famous for planting Assam black tea, and you can also climb the Sun Moon Lake weather station at an altitude of 1050 meters. This walk is 4.6 kilometers long and it takes about 3 hours to go back and forth. There are many kinds of aquatic products in Sun Moon Lake, and the traditional Shao dish, Qichilli Fish, has a unique flavor. Traditionally, it is eaten after pickling, while frying is a common conditioning method in modern times. Point-tailed live fish, with local mushrooms and wild vegetables, is the most authentic lakeside cuisine.

The scenic spots are upgraded to reproduce the brilliance of the sun and the moon: the epicenter of the Chi-Chi earthquake fell to the west of Sun-Moon Lake 12.5 km. Or collapsed, or cracked, even the Moon Temple on Guanghua Island was split in two by the violent earthquake, which eclipsed the pearl in this lake. Unprecedented heavy losses have also brought opportunities for the reconstruction of Sun Moon Lake, which is in a downturn. After the earthquake, Sun Moon Lake was officially upgraded to a "national-level" scenic spot with an area of 9,000 hectares. The whole area is expected to be planned as lakeside rest resort, pine and cypress ecological exhibition area, Dazhu Lake health tourism treatment area, Dehua social and cultural park, Qinglong Mountain historical range rover area and Shuisheba water recreation area, which will be built year by year.

Lalu Island (Guanghua Island): Lalu Island is the birthplace of Shao nationality, which Han people call Pig Mountain and Guanghua Island; After the water level of Sun Moon Lake rose, most of the island was submerged, and it was really called "Zhuzi Mountain". Although Lalu Island is small, there is a dock to dock. Many couples like to go to the island and make a lifelong commitment to each other in front of the elderly under the moon.

Sun Moon Lake Fountain: Taipower pumps turbid water into Sun Moon Lake, and when it comes out, it will form a 40-meter-high fountain column for the sun and the moon to spew. Water injection and water spraying every 2 hours are very spectacular and often capture the amazing eyes of tourists.

Dehua Society: Dehua Society on the southeast bank of Sun Moon Lake is the last base of Shao culture. This group of more than 200 people, who have not been officially recognized, have lost their tribal characteristics, and the nearby mountain cultural park has also become a combined house for the victims after the 92 1 Chi Chi earthquake. Only during the ancestor worship festival (harvest festival) at the end of July of the lunar calendar every year can we get a glimpse of its traditional customs. Dehua merchants are concentrated, where you can eat authentic live fish, wild vegetables, or buy aboriginal handicrafts; Small boats are parked in the dock for boating around the lake.

Cienta: Located at the top of Erlong Mountain, Cienta is the most famous landmark beside Sun Moon Lake. It is a pagoda-like building in China, with nine floors and a height of 46 meters. Plus it is located at the top of 954 meters, which is exactly 1000 meters. In this way, Qinglong Mountain descended to the middle of the lake, far away from Lalu Island (Guanghua Island) in front of it, just like a walking dragon.

Wu Wen Temple: At the foot of Tanbei Mountain, it stands tall. The temple is dominated by golden yellow, with stable structure and vast area, giving people a feeling of extraordinary momentum. Dacheng Hall is dedicated to the sage Confucius, and the left and right halls are dedicated to the martial saints Guan Yu and Wen Changjun. Looking from the temple, the scenery of Sun Moon Lake is like a three-dimensional landscape painting, which makes people feel open and relaxed. Peacock Garden is located on the west bank of Tanxi Lake. There are dozens of pairs of colorful peacocks, all of whom have been trained to perform dancing, open their screens and salute. This is very interesting. On the east bank of Sun Moon Lake, there is an alpine compatriot village. Gaoshan compatriots are good at singing and dancing, dancing gracefully and singing moving, adding luster to the beautiful Sun Moon Lake.

There is also a landscape in Sun Moon Lake, which is rich in hundreds of species of fish. When tourists throw bait to the water, groups of colorful fish will surface, swim to people and compete for food with their mouths open. They come in gold, silvery white, purple and black, with different shapes. There is a kind of small fish that is a little silly and shy, always wandering in the distance for food, so cute. This kind of fish is a kind of precious fish, which is the most famous in Sun Moon Lake. Not only for tourists to watch, but also its delicious and smooth taste is amazing.
