Zhang Song called Liu Bei "Liu Yuzhou". Of course, the origin of this title is also because Liu Bei was appointed as the vacant position of Yuzhou Secretariat. Zhang Song advised Liu Zhang to accept Liu Beishi and said, "Liu Yuzhou, your heart."
Xu Shu and Zhuge Liang initially called Liu Bei a "general". For example, in the History of the Three Kingdoms, when Xu Shu recommended Zhuge Liang to Liu Bei, he said, "Would you like to have a look, General?" Later, Zhuge Liang advised Liu Bei to win Jingzhou in Longzhong, saying, "Are you interested, General?"
Liu Ba looked down on Liu Bei and called him a "veteran". Liu Ba asked, "Are gentlemen among veterans?"
Liu Bei was called "the king" by his men, carrying the queen of Hanzhong. When Zhuge Liang and others persuaded Liu Bei to call himself emperor, they said, "Wang came from Emperor zhongshan jing wang, who was filial piety."
After Liu Bei proclaimed himself emperor, Zhuge Liang called Liu Bei "the king of the country". For example, Zhuge Liang lamented after losing the battle of Liu Bei's Yiling: "If the law is filial, it can control the Lord, not the East."
After Liu Bei's death, he was named Emperor Zhaolie, so people later called Liu Bei Emperor Zhaolie of Han Dynasty.
