Evolution of Tacheng Township
Tacheng has a long history. Su Rong, a famous soldier of Sui Dynasty, went on an expedition to Yunnan, built an iron bridge (the present site) in Shenzhou (also known as Shenchuan), and set up the Governor of Shenchuan here. 1950 belongs to the fifth district of Lijiang County, 1958 established Tacheng Commune, 1963 belongs to the fifth district, 1966 rebuilt Tacheng Commune, 1984 belongs to Judian District, 1988 analyzed Tacheng Township. Located in the northwest of Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County. 1997, with an area of 26 1.5 square kilometers and a population of 9,000, governs five administrative villages, namely Tacheng, Yilong, Luogu and Ba Long. In 2002, it belonged to Yulong Naxi Autonomous County.
