What does the humanities include?
Humanities is a discipline that explores human emotions, morality and rationality through observation, analysis and criticism, including philosophy, literature, art, history, religion, western classicism and so on.

History: The research history of western humanities can be traced back to ancient Greece, when humanities was the basis of civic education. In ancient Rome, the concept of three studies and four meetings began to take shape. [1] These disciplines became the main body of education in the Middle Ages, emphasizing that the humanities are technologies or methods of doing things.

However, the embryonic form of humanities research in China appeared very early. For example, this poem, which is mainly composed of folk music and compiled by Kong Qiu, a philosopher in the Spring and Autumn Period, is a side reflection of the feelings and basic morality of ordinary people, including love. Or use western humanistic thoughts and values to explain the universality of humanities, so it is suggested that the study of humanities is mainly reflected in literary forms such as drama, legend and novel. Taking Yuan as an example, humanism is guided by the value comments of the system, while ignoring "attacking the cruel oppression of feudal system and the struggle of women at the bottom", which is only a part of humanism and not enough to represent the universal humanistic thought. Furthermore, it is put forward: "The rulers of various feudal periods in China suppressed the humanities to varying degrees, so that the development of humanities in China has been very slow, and no systematic science has been formed, and even the participants themselves have been brutally persecuted. It was not until the May 4th Movement that the humanities really began to move towards the mainstream culture. Although the humanities initially appeared in different literary forms, on the whole, the humanities include all aspects. It is generally believed that "literature, history and philosophy" is the basic field of humanities, that is, the understanding of the essence of humanities. Equating humanism with humanism means that a white horse is a horse, and a white horse is not a horse. White horse is a kind of horse, but this term is not enough to represent all horses. Furthermore, when attacking the feudal system, we cannot simply "symbolize" the feudal system. No matter what its essence is, we must first make clear the characteristics of the feudal system and avoid the phenomenon that the new feudal system attacks the old feudal system. The feudal political system in Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties is the stage of the old class form, and class becomes the standard to judge a person's value, and people distinguish it by family differences. This bloodline theory is the foundation of feudal system.

During the Renaissance, the humanities was regarded as a research but not practical discipline, and suddenly broke away from the traditional categories such as literature and history. In the twentieth century, this view was challenged by the post-modern movement, just for the humanities to seek an equal definition in a democratic society.
